No, and I do not want to. I pretty much lived through this first hand, and do not want to be reminded about it.

My mom saw the towers burn and fall herself, and also does not need to see this movie (and pay $10 for it) to be reminded about it. Some days all I have to do is remember the condition my car was in after the attacks, and its more than enough for me.

Nahhh...I think this is a good thread to start up. There are major differences in feeling about this movie. Let's keep it going.

Some people don't want to see it, bad memories. Some people want it to be done right and will likely go and see the movie to be sure it is accurate. Some people need to go watch because they seem to have forgotten all about it. They treat it like it is Pearl Harbor or something they forget it was just 5 years ago. Either way I hope they made it well, without ridiculous propaganda (aka Farenheit 911). Which, judging by the lack of media frenzy, seems to be the case.

I said the same thing (sort of) to my wife..."It must be fairly accurate, and unbiased if the liberal media isn't going berzerk about it"

Hopefully, it captures the heroism of so many that day...and the pain that affected all involved both that day and lingering beyond. As someone who experienced the Pentagon side of it first hand, I have strong emotions about that day, but I am sure not even close to that of many NY'ers that were in Manhattan. I have a friend that works for Verizon, and saw almost everything from his office window. I know the NY experience far exceeds ours here in DC/VA.

Read an article that said "Oliver Stone took a few liberties while making the movie ..."

But they never pecified what the 'liberties' were. It seems that he does this with all the movies he directs/produces.

Hopefully it is just talking about the people and their interactions, combining more then one real person's actions, etc. into one character. And not talking about the facts of the attack. I don't mind that because it is a movie afterall and they need the story to be more centered on a few people instead of a say hundreds. I'm undecided right now whether I'm gonna go see it...

For me, it is far too soon for this film. I have been to NYC many times, both before and after 9/11. I have had the great fortune to have visited the WTC several times, and even been able to go on the outside observation deck of tower 2, to see NYC in all it's glory. I miss those buildings terribly. Every time I go to NYC, something is missing. It's just not the same, but I love it anyway.

The "212" in my WA user name is in reference to my favorite place to visit. I would say that I am a New Yorker-in-spirit. I may not be there physically, but my heart always is. IMO, there is no place in this world like New York City!!:D

I did not know anyone personally who perished that day, but I still feel emotionally like I did. Maybe in 5 more years I'll be ready for this film, but not now.

Don't know if I'll see it - certainly not in the theater - possibly on DVD - where I can react on my own (though seeing it in a theater & having the collective introspection that can take place with a piece like this would be good, too)

I think the "liberties" is about the relationships of Nick Cage & Maria Bello - as they are fictional characters. Stone kept all conspiracy theory out of it - unlike JFK, etc.

It's good to see that most people agree that this is too soon. Way back when in 2001, my father and I were one of the very first people allowed back in lower manhattan, below Houston street that is. The things I saw then were enough for me.

    (Sorry for rambling on.)

With any story that hits right home that is a tragedy those individuals will probably not see it. It reminds them of the tragedy all over again.

I don't think there was a movie on Oklahoma City bomb in 95?

If there is or will be a movie on the big screen or TV, many people that were effected by it probably won't watch it.

I was all over the area, based at Verizon's damaged HQ on West, with another ops location on the corner of Liberty and Washington on September 13 with a crew setting up temp. BTS sites for AWS and some rooftop laser comm point to point links to re-establish some backhaul connectivity (RF Spectrum coordination was a mess). The more I think about it, the more I want to see this.

For those of you that know me, and have looked at my signature, you are aware that I grew up in the shadows of the Towers. They were a part of my life for many many years, and that day, as well as the picture of "My" towers falling down, will stay in my mind forever.

With that being said, this is a great thread!! It is never too soon to pay tribute to HEROS!!!!!

I saw the movie last week, and let me be the first to tell you that EVERY American needs to see this movie. Oliver Stone, with all his past reputation for being graphic and a bit sadistic, has now brought to life the true stories behind the tragedy. He chose NOT to give the terrorists ONE SECOND of air time, instead, what he did was make an entire epic from the moment after the planes hit! For those of you that saw "JFK" and realized that he is very opinionated, and at the same time, a seeker of truth, he has outdone himself here. This is a REAL LIFE "Ladder 49". Is he geting criticized for leaving out the other 18 people that were saved, yes, however, you would have to make a mini-series to cover the story of all 20 people.

I have read all of your comments, some touching, and in my opinion, some selfish, and I don't say that to get anyone upset. I do want to say, especially to you guys, Yankees and LBMike, who I consider my friends, that you owe it to yourself to see this film. I cried over the unbelievable amounts of courage and bravery that I saw, and the passion for life that I felt. I guarantee you all that people like Jay and Tom (Fire14) will feel the same way I do. Yes, I am passionate about the Towers. Half of my office is a shrine to them. Kelli will be the first to tell you that I have so many pictures of Tribute that it is not funny.

Long statement, yeah, but please see this movie!

    Spot On, Steven2420!!!

My Wife & I saw the movie over the weekend, & it was done brilliantly.

The focus was only on the many courageous people that worked hand in hand to rescue the First Responders, and the other victims. The Terroristic aspect was not anywhere to be seen. I think this movie needed to be made whether or not it may give closure to some people.

Although I was here in AZ on that terrible day, & I luckily didn't suffer any tragedies in regards to Friends & Family. I had never felt so completely numb, as I did on that hellish day.

Wow, never would have expected that. I just know that I, as well as all of my friends have the same thoughts as I do. Maybe I will change my mind now.
