Curious. On the Search for Wireless Carriers on the front page of Wireless Advisor, I inputed my zip code, 78501. It states near the search engine: Well. It doesn't show Alltel and they have two retail stores under that zip code. So what gives? Why isn't Alltel in the list?
Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/160) The license search tool is kind of out of date. In my area it shows a bunch of old carriers that don't exsit in my area at all any more. From what I have heard the are updating it soon.
AH! Thanks. I am assuming the data is old because, IIRC, Alltel established stores in my region about 2 yrs ago.
That "Search for Wireless Carriers" tool was pathetically out of date over three years ago when I was first looking for service. It should have been shot and put out of its misery (and ours) before then.
Whoa! Thanks for the all info. I was just curious because I know Alltel started making a big push on putting retail stores, billboards, and getting independent retailers to sell their wares about two years ago. I remember that when they opened their store in Weslaco, Texas two years (I think) it was packed to the gills. I don't know who has the store reps that day, but I know they must have stayed there way past store closing hours. Today, you can't miss their stores, commercials, and independent stores selling AllTel. When my contract was coming to an end VZW, I chedk that search engine, but I was surprised with no Alltel on the findings.
