Hi! Is there a website that rates service/coverage in a specific area? I'm looking to join Verizon Wireless. I currently live on Long Island where the service is good, but next year we are moving to Queensbury (upstate) NY (near Lake George) and was wondering how the coverage is up there. Any info is appreciated. Thanks! Ammie
Check their coverage maps online, although I don't think you will have any problems on either location with Verizon.
Coverage is great in Queensbury and surrounding areas. I travel to Lake George often and i'm in that area alot.
From this discussion a short while back it seems Verizon is your better bet for the Lake George area, I don't think you will have any problem with them up there. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/n...s-champlain-valley.html?highlight=Lake+George
Check out the Jan 2007 consumer reports. They love Verizon, pretty much blew away Cingular and Sprint. Allcatel is a close second with TMo not far behind. Unfortunately they only rate large cities and ignored the suburbs and rural areas.
Consumer Reports is the last place you should look if you want decent wireless carrier comparisons. It has been proven.
T-mo might not be either. If so likely only one tower. I think he was just listing all the carriers. What is Allcatel? As far as the best coverage for that particular area. Verizon is the best.
That was my question too. T-Mobile worked on the Mountain Top overseeing the Lake where the Tour Bus Goes. But this was 4 years ago, things could have changed.
By the look of the coverage maps, VZW has the best. It may be a toss up between Sprint and Cingular. T-Mobile seems to have some coverage and Jones says it was good there when he was there. I wonder if they allow roaming off Cingular outside Lake George......
