    PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2006--Alltel Wireless (NYSE:
    AT), America's largest network, now offers the largest wireless
    broadband coverage area in Phoenix. No other wireless carrier matches
    the Axcess Broadband footprint, which extends from north of Flagstaff
    to south of Eloy. Alltel's next generation EVDO (evolution data
    optimized) service provides customers with unlimited wireless access
    to the Internet at speeds comparable to wired broadband connections
    such as cable modem or DSL.

    Using Axcess Broadband, customers can access advanced business and
    entertainment applications from their laptops, smartphones or handsets
    at average speeds of 400 to 700 Kbps with maximum speeds of up to 2.4
    Mbps. Axcess Broadband makes it easy to surf the Internet, access
    e-mail and calendars and download large, graphic-rich files from
    outside the home or office.

    coverage that underscores Alltel's commitment to meeting the growing
    wireless data needs of customers in Arizona," said Terri Larson,
    Alltel vice president of business solutions for Arizona. "Now that
    Alltel has the largest EVDO footprint in the Phoenix area, both
    traveling professionals and casual users have even greater freedom to
    remain connected to secure, reliable data services while on the go."

    Alltel introduced Axcess Broadband in Phoenix in 2005 and is
    rapidly expanding its high-speed network across the country. In the
    past year, Alltel has launched Axcess Broadband in metropolitan areas
    such as Tampa, Charlotte, and Cleveland; in smaller cities such as
    Little Rock, Ark.; Raleigh, N.C., and Savannah, Ga., and in towns such
    as Temple, Texas; Dothan, Al., and Durango, Colo.

    Axcess Broadband is available for $59.99 a month for unlimited use
    with qualifying voice plans. In addition to supporting a wide range of
    productivity enhancing business applications, it enables Alltel's
    Axcess TV, with more than 25 channels, and XM radio, with 20 of the
    best satellite radio music channels. To experience the high-speed
    network, customers will need an EVDO-capable handset, such as the
    MOTORAZR V3c, or a laptop PC data card, such as the Kyocera Passport
    1xEVDO PC Card.
