Hi everyone, I came across this forum site while searching an answer to my question on google. I would appreciate it very much if anyone could help me out on this if possible. Sometime in the next month or so, some of my friends are planning to go on a road trip from coast to coast (Mass to Cali) on Interstate 90. They are planning to go on it for 2 weeks. One of the things that they need would be an Internet connection with something equivalent to DSL speed pretty much all the time. This guy on the job needs to do his financial stuff while on the road, not only in hotels. So the question is: Is there a wireless data service for a laptop that would pretty cover everywhere they go? (I90 covers Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts - http://www.interstate-guide.com/i-090.html) I've looked at Verizon Wireless, Cingular, and T-Mobile's (Didn't bother with Sprint due to their bad reputation) coverage maps and their services don't seem to cover a lot of places, but I'm hope I'm wrong. I've also considered Iridium satellite data service, but I don't know what the data transfer speed is like. If anyone has any idea about this please let me know.
Don't count sprint out for no reason, they are an excellent wireless broadband service, much more so that cingular or t-mobile.
Sorry, didn't know Sprint was fine. I just heard from word of mouth that their service isn't the best. I would appreciate it how they are like over I90.
