when I had my e815 phone, I was able to put a password on private things such has text messages, my contacts, pictures, video...things that were private to me. so if say, my phone was ever lost, my private information would be safe

now, all the phones on verizon have the same operating system, and we can not protect our private information anymore. The lock phone feature, basically disables the phone because you cant even see what time it is when you enable it, and it does not automatically lock when you are not using your phone...

The feature to lock particular options was a Motorola UI thing. I enjoyed it too, but when Verizon put their standard UI on their phones, this was not one of the options they made available.

If I remember correctly, Motorola's UI was the only one that had the various lock options. Verizon's UI bears a striking resemblance to LG's original UI. So unfortunately this is the way it is.

well how hard can it be to add a simple feature that will lock your phone? I mean, they can disable bluetooth features but cant add some security for our private things on our phones...

I use it a lot on my 815...This way I wouldn't change the phone to silent or vibrate by hitting the side button, when I take it out of the case.
