Why don't Nokia's have a concave face?

I've always wondered why "candy bar" style phones, especially Nokias, aren't created with a concave front face. To me, that would fit one's face much more comfortably - one of the reasons I feel it's easier to talk on a clamshell phone. Nokias are often flat, or worse (like 3360, 6360, etc.), they're convex! The center is thicker than the tips. It's like putting a ball against your face and trying to make it fit comfortably. Any thoughts?

The phone style designers will have an idea.

Check out the pics of the 3585 and 3570, they looked to have somewhat solved the problem
