why does my phone call stop after ann hour and 49 mins? it always does that to me and i am jus curious to why?
I had heard, some time ago, that there was a two-hour limit, supposedly to keep people from accidentally using up all their minutes on a call they didn't know they are making. 1:49 is strange though....
Wow man how many times are you on a call that needs to be longer than an hour and 49 min? Sorry I know that your issue is probably frustrating but man if that always happens to you, that indicates you are on this long of calls a lot, and perhaps you may want to invest in a landline if you are doing this while at home? Maybe even the tmobile@home for 10.00. With all my training from tmobile I have never seen a set time for calls to auto disconnect so I couldn't say why it is happening.
If you happen to be a talker like me, , it happens. There are times I'm on a call for several hours, usually getting knocked off by a depleted battery. I have friends and family in different locales, so long calls aren't unusual for me (most of these calls are M2M, night, or weekend). I have to say I don't remember experiencing calls ending at the 1:49:xx mark. If it did happen, I might have thought it was just a random dropped call. What I can say is I've experienced dropped calls from all three carriers I've had in recent years. So as a result, I've never experienced this issue.
Most of my calls are short but when i first got the myfaves i had a 4 hour call with no problems at all. The battery got warm since i had to plug it in but the call didnt drop at all. Ive actually done that twice with tmobile without any problems.
lol, im always on the phone with either my girlfriend (who lives a lil far and im always busy with school and work) or im on with my uncle or cousin because he lives far too and i can hardly see them. Im usually going in and out of the house unless it's late at night so landline will not work, also i dislike landlines because people can drop in my conversation. lol, Anyways, I've been experiencing it for awhile now, it usually drops between 1:45 min to 2:20 mins was my longest. i use to be able to talk to someone for 6-7 hrs. Could it be the phone itself? i have a t-mobile wing
could just be the battery draining I know with my dash the longer it is used the less the battery seems to last seems like a common htc win mobile deal. I think for long talkers like you, perhaps more of a phone first device might be a better solution, but the wing is a good device for other things too.
There was a similar situation with me early last year, where my calls to one certain number would last exactly 28 minutes, and then just drop out of nowhere; I talked to this number hours a day... I guess Alltel got upset and wanted to limit my calls (lengthwise) to this number. This stopped after a week when I mentioned it to an Alltel rep.
I've engineered cellular networks for 10 years now and I've never heard of any operator setting limits on the length of a users phone call. I don't even know how/where in the network they would put a "feature" like that? Plus legally, they would probably have to put some mention of it in your contact, or at least inform you if you ask about it. ...I would guess it's a coincidence, or the phone, but most likely not the network dropping you due to a time limit...(altho anythings possible)
Back in antiquity (late 60's,70's) there were signal channel carriers on SMR (a pre IMTS and per Cellular mobile phone service), that limited calls to 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Then a tone would come on leading to a disconnect in 15 seconds. Never saw it in digital cellular service.
thanks everybody for the reply, and i kinda found my problem. I guess it was the storage in my phone but when i did a hard reset on my phone and cleared everything then when i called someone the phone lasted for 4 hrs. So im pretty sure now that it is the phone. Just to make sure though i am going to use my spare phone tonight (a motorola razr) and i will see if it makes a difference. I will give everybody an answer tomorrow when i find out so that this will help others that could have the same problem for future reference.
okay, so i am trying a different phone now, and i will get back to yall asap to see what my progress was. but i do have another question. this is jus out of the blue but should i get a new sim card? i've had mine for 10 yrs + and don't know if i need to change it.
I had a SIM card for 8 years and never had any problems. However a new SIM card could also be a good thing. (..has T-Mobile USA been around for 10 years? )
i think so, because my dad had this number before he passed away and then i took over the number. back in 2003
tmobile usa Started as Voicestrem in 1994, then became Tmobile USA officially in 2002 so yes and no...Tmobile USA is 7 years old but we have been in the game for 15 years now. A new sim would be nice will hold more contacts and always nice to get new equipment.
0o0, i didn't know all of that, that's why i stopped hearing about voicestream... and yea i will try to get a new sim card tomorrow when i get the chance...
sorry for the delay but i have been really busy with school and everything else. but i still have found no solution to this problem. i have tried switching phones and i have tried new sim cards and nothing works.
