Re: Why Does Apple Announce iPhone Pricing And Availability But Other Phone Makers Do I think it is because Apple is more controlling of the carriers than other manufacturers. They pay and do what Apple dictates. Usually the pricing and release date of other suppliers' devices is announced in press releases by the wireless carriers.
Re: Why Does Apple Announce iPhone Pricing And Availability But Other Phone Makers Do I think it is because Apple knows the iSheep will buy regardless of when, where or how much. :googlyeye:wink:
Re: Why Does Apple Announce iPhone Pricing And Availability But Other Phone Makers Do Bahaaaa. I use an iPaaaaad and an iPhoooooone. It's cuz apple controls not only the supply channels but also the retail channels. There is Nintendo, Microsoft, Disney video, and the list goes on and on. I like apple products cuz I'm to lazy to think for myself. But I am getting pissed off at their business practices, but not enough to dump them for a better product like the Galaxy S3. My apple just worrrrrks without me thinking. - - - Updated - - - One more thing. I just read that blokes (that's a brilliant British word for dude) article. He doesn't answer it from a common sence point of view. His answer sounds like its an opportunity for him to put Apple on a pedestal and show how the others are "not as good". The other manufactures would do the same thing if they could get a cult following. Ok. Who wants to buy an unlocked iPhone? I also have an iPad. Oh wait, I think I will hold off on selling the ipad until I can get my hands on the ipad mini. I have to much money invested in the apps. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
Re: Why Does Apple Announce iPhone Pricing And Availability But Other Phone Makers Do I definitely prefer knowing what I'm in for before it's time to buy, so I prefer the way Apple informs consumers of price/release date. But yes, this likely works well for them because they have die hard fans who they know will buy their product regardless, and will only be more excited about it the farther off the release date and the higher the price, as they will take this as a sign that the higher price and longer wait will equate to a superior product. Maybe it will. All I know is that for me, not knowing how much it costs, what it can do, or when it will be available does not whet my consumerist appetite.
