I mean, help other people to learn (hopefully) about cell phones, providers, plan details, etc.? When I first began posting here I was ignorant as a dead tree stump about how cell phones worked (generally speaking) as well as being virtually clueless as to how the providers would provide service. After many long hours of reading and posting, both here and at numerous other sites, I feel that I can probably keep my head above water when discussing cellular technology. When I tried a VZW phone from the Everett, Wa. store, after talking with a nice saleswoman about my needs and expectations and settling on a phone + plan I asked her, humbly I hope, if she was impressed with my knowledge level and she said yes. Okay, maybe she was just eager to close the sale and get rid of me. :browani: I suggested that she venture on over to WA to see what kind of good advice is dispensed on a daily basis and she agreed. BTW, I have since recommended WA to about a dozen different people who all work in the industry. I would just like to hear what your motivations are for posting here daily. I know that a major reason is simply "kinship" or cameraderie - a lot of folks just enjoy talking to long-time friends. But what motivates you to answer some truly ignorant and asinine questions? For me, I truly want to share my limited knowledge and experience with others who are confronted with the daunting task of choosing one phone and provider for their needs. These little suckers (phones) can be very exasperating for the un- or ill-prepared consumer, especially if you choose to trust a salesperson at a store. As for the plans, well, that's another topic entirely.
I would say for me it is not wanting people to have go though what i went though with Sprint and Cingular. ALot of it was my ignorance and lack of readin the Terms and COnditions, but also alot of it was just cellco BS like sprint telling me " sir, we can not guarntee converage in side a building". BS, what am i suppose to do walk out in FLoirdas thunderstorms everytime my phone rings?? ALos alot of it it I would say is that I LOVE knolodge, I love to learn and i also LOVE to teach and pass on my skills or konolodge. Finaly, I would say that cell phone techonlogy just facsinates me entirely! Its truely amazeing how far we have come and how far we have left to go!

Well, i'm obsessed with cellular phones like the rest of you LOL I thought I knew a good amount and I was wrong, very wrong. I like learning anything and everything that has to do with cell phones. I come here because there are some good people here that I like talking to and exchanging stories/knowledge and good times with. Also, I don't know everything...far from it, so I can always come here and ask one of my "stupid questions" and get a serious response without someone's ego or something coming in and saying "Duh, you stupid dummy, you don't know that?!?!" And sometimes I think of the weirdest things to ask :O Some people browse many forums for wireless information and for everyday chit chat. This is the only message board I come to for wireless info and for chit chat. I have to keep up on so much going on around here, I wouldn't have time to go to these HoFo's and other places people go to. Participating here and mod-ing the boards over at the radio-info takes a good chunk of time. I couldn't imagine participating in 2, 3, 4, 5, etc boars If I ever quit and got a different job with no internet access, I don't know what I would do
I love to help people. thats why i work in the wireless industry. i am helping people communicate. and on WA, I am doing the same thing. plus its a great place to come and learn new things myself. i also have a great time on here talking with Delta, Ceno, Rancid, Gamer, and all the rest of the gang. its like an online family or something. some of us are even interested in meeting with each other at some point. some of us already have. id still like to get out to ohio for some paintball action with delta, but conflicting busy schedules keep me from doing that.
I noticed that everyone who has replied so far has under approx. 750 posts. While I appreciate everyone's input I also want to hear from veteran WA posters. I participate in about 25 different & diverse types of forums (not daily) but WA is the only place where I feel like part of a "community.":cheers2:

I came here because I'm always looking for info on anything I can find, and cell phones interest me alot. Rule #1, if you want to know something, find the people who know it and listen to them. People come to me for car info because that is what I'm trained to do and that is what I know. People here know cell phones, so I came here to learn from them.
Free beer... wait wrong forum. Truthfully, for the same reason I know what I do about guns, computers, why I'm a certified diver, among other things. It's because I find this interesting.
