    So, I'm thinking I might want a PDA and/or Smartphone. But 45.00 for a data plan, on top of voice, is expensive. Do I really need a data plan. What the heck is ENMOU? Can't I just up my regular minute plan and use that to browse (honestly, don't see myself doing this all that much) and to access my email (probably more use here)? Thoughts and explanations from others always appreciated.

    Yeah, I would like to know as well.

    I would love to pick up the Treo 600 for the main purpose of combing my cellphone w/ my PDA, all in one package. I have no need whatsoever for a Data Plan.

    The Data Plan will not be a requirement, will it???

    I would think not, but I am not up on Verizon's requirements of late.

    Jrapp - most PDA/Phones alow you to set up other connections & select them as the default connection. So I am sure CSD would be an option for you.

    I'm inferring from your response (thank you by the way) that if I wanted to use VZW's wireless synch/browser/email push I would need their data plan. Also "CSD" is what exactly.

    CSD = circiut switched data

    It is basicly data over a voice network. It is pretty slow (9K), but most Verizon WAP customers should be used to the speed, as that is what Verizon's regular phones use to connect to WAP site. I am not sure of the sync, but the browser & email should be able to use CSD.

    You may want to PM WirelessBeachBum or Bugwart, as the both have Verizon and i600 pda/phones. They would be able to help you with your questions much better then I can. :)

    ENMOU is Express Network Minutes Only Use. you can have customer service add that feature to your plan so you can just use your minutes to browse. thats how i do it. now i think its NAMOU (national access) at least in the activation system i use thats what it is.

    there is no problem using your plan to browse like that. tons of customers do that. i do. i wouldnt if they had a problem with it.
