Since AT&T merged with Cingular, I believed they are the second largest provider in the area. I been with Verizon for about 4 or 5 years, it's about time to jump ship to Cingular.

Cingular has been equal to, if not better than Verizon, in MA, even before the merger.

Cingular has a very good MA network before the merger and it should be even better now.

I get coverage all around MA better than Verizon, so I would say Cinguar #1, Verizon #2 based on my experience (I travel around MA a lot while I'm there, and I'll be there again next month if you want me to review).

From my experience, Verizon is #1 in eastern MA (Boston), and Cingular is #1 in western MA (Verizon has lots of holes in the boonies of WMA).

Where did you experience problems with Cingular in the Boston area? Just wondering.

I didn't like the idea of the Cingular phone having trouble making up its mind by flipping between Cingular and Cingular Extend most of the time.

Since first trying out T-Mobile To Go (prepay) last summer and eventually converting it to monthly postpay service, I have had excellent coverage and full signal strength (7 bars out of 7) literally everywhere in eastern Massachusetts that I have travelled.
