I forgot the exact year, but according to the Mayan calendar, the world is supposed to end in 2012 or 2013.......
Why yes, Heavenly Mobile is a CDMA carrier, and Cellular Hell is the GSM carrier.. :browani: I hear Heavenly Mobile is quite good. They have the best phones, universal coverage, and unlimited mobile to mobile. The best part is free days and nights for eternity. Since I'm not planning on going to Hell, I have no idea what Cellular Hell is like, but by the name alone, it sounds pretty bad...
No kidding, my parents bought the current house 12 years ago and back then, it cost close to $470k. But within the next 4 or 5 years, the property values for Redwood City/Redwood Shores jumped and 3-bedroom, 3 bath houses would cost a whopping 1 million bucks. Back to the main topic......isn't LA overdue for another quake? I'm surprised that LA hasn't had many major earthquakes in the last 100 years not to mention with the faults that were discovered over the last 20 years or so. To explain a little more about the Bay Area quake occurences.....there are two major faults that tend to be the most active. The San Andreas fault has seen the most activity and major quakes since 1900. Both the 1906 (magnitude of 8.3.) and the 1989 Loma Prieta (7.1.) quakes occurred on this fault. It runs the along the Pacific traveling towards the Bay Area. It runs through the South Bay/Silicon Valley area (San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View) up towards Palo Alto (Santa Clara County), Portola Valley (San Mateo County), Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Mateo, Millbrae, San Bruno, South San Francisco, Daly City and into San Francisco. One would hope that with the San Andreas Fault will be relieved of most of the major stress since it experienced the last 2 major quakes. The second fault across the Bay in the East Bay, the Hayward Fault, has not seen any major quakes in the 50 years or so. Chances are that the next quake could occur along this fault. I recall the Loma Prieta Quake quite vividly. I was 8 when it occurred and quite scared since the quake surprised my friend's family and me in the late afternoon. The scariest moment was when we left the ground floor apartment and got stuck in the hallway with the two hallway exit doors slamming shut and the lights constantly going out. It's best to always be prepared......of course the Northridge Quake was also very devastating.
Cellular Hell sounds good to me. I like SINS, I mean SIMS. And I am a phone whore (junkie is just a nice way to put it) after all. :evillaugh
Agreed- they say it can basically happen anytime now since it has been due to happen for a long time. I don't want to be here when it happens and I don't want to have family and loved ones here when it happens.
Well, I am glad everyone here from CA is ok from the shaking going on over there, I hope it's not a preview of things coming & it's building up to something worst. Keep safe over there.
Agreed. It never hurts to be prepared just in case something happens, whether it is tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, earthquakes, etc.
