I live on Eglin AFB,FL and know that the different providers have coverage gaps in the NW Florida panhandle. I am looking for a service that I can travel from Tallahasee, FL to Mobile, AL and to Macon, GA with. I don't need tons of minutes, but would like to have good coverage in my area without roaming charges. Thanks, Elaine

I work for Cingular here in Pensacola and I would honestly recommend either us or Verizon. prolly Verizon based on the macon, Ga part.

Cell South isn't too bad in the area. My friend has it and it works fine.

Actually, I have Cingular GSM, and I get great coverage in Macon, GA. I know Cingular is TDMA in Florida, but the 6340 should get good coverage in Macon. GSM is roaming on T-Mobile there; I couldn't tell you anything about the coverage south of there, though, or anything about TDMA coverage.

I take that back then...The phone will work in macon just fine. I just looked at a blow up of the CPN plan, and it's there. The 6340 isn't available in this market yet...but should be soon.

Thanks for the inputs. I ended up going with Cingular. So far, so good.
