Some people want to know where aiwapro is, but I want to know where the nicest gentlemen who was on this forum is. (also one of the very 1st members.)
He is still around just not as much as he use to be. I also have cut down on my posting lately. After a while WA gets a bit tired so you sometimes see the top posters slack off a bit.
Kevin is doing good, just not posting as much, he is busy with a new position at work, and with kids, I'm sure he doesn't have much time to post on here. He is a very nice guy, adds a ton to the class of these forums!
Hey Mike remember the days before the new format of this site with memberships? I think you me and Kevin and a couple of others are the only ones left from those days.
Yeah, I do, I was just thinking about that too. We are the few survivors of the fallout, I got a good name for us, the Wireless Dirty Dozen lol
Are you talking about the old software, where everything was on one page per region...all threaded ugly? I remember that....
When we first registered it was easy because I could see that Kevin James and I were the only two members for about the first hour on the first day.
Actually, I was using this forum even before Kevin came on board but he happened to register considerably earlier than I did. Back then registration/login id wasn't required and I just kept on posting using anonymous account but always signed my name "Kenny". Well anyways, priorities change in life and also it's good to take a breather from the site and wireless news for a while to refresh yourself. In fact, many people don't use forums in moderation but are addicted to it and get burned out. Actually for me, I've taken a bit of a break too, moderating my doses for now to ensure I stay fresh.
Well, I guess I should at least acknowledge. Hey DiverDown. Hope all is well with you. Whatever happened with your ill friend? My email address listed here is still valid and working. As to what has been happening.... 1. I was told I would be trained as a ColdFusion programmer. Turns out I am going to test other programmers' work. 2. My youngest is getting married, to an Aussie. I just applied for my passport so I can go there to see the wedding. 3. My photography is gaining popularity, now if only someone would actually buy my photographs! (Everyone's a lookie lou!) 4. I am once again taking an interest in advanced Excel use and have been hanging out at mrexcel.com boards. Thanks for asking kev
You can find out your number status by clicking on the today link on the user tool bar above or by clicking on the link below. Today
That just gives your total number of posts doesn't it? Is there a way to find out in what order we joined? I'm pretty sure Kevin and I were #1 and #2.
I looked at the profiles of the Oct. 2001 folks in this thread. Kevin James 10/2/01 Larry 10/2/01 Rich 10/4/01 Matt 10/8/01
Matt, Thanks for leaving me out! :-( I was registered on October 31st 2001. That probally makes me the 5th person Jack
Wow, staying in one forum for almost 2 years is pretty good. I totally agree with the person who said 'burning out'. I was a little burnt out from WA, but now I feel like I am more refreshed. I posted a lot on this Star Trek forum, which eventually just got so big, and so tiresome to me. Hardly ever go there now. Hope that does not happen here, we have already (almost)lost some people since I joined that were pretty big posters.
Yeah my big thing in the past little while has been involved with the investment market (stocks, funds, bonds, investing, etc)...so that has eaten my time up a bit but it's good because it throws in some variety.
ILUVSOCAL is poster #19 Airb330 is the #12 poster Matt is poster #9 KevinJames has dropped to #7 Jack has dropped to #6. He was once a long-time #1. Aiwapro remains high at #5 because his high number of posts, not because he's active. In the top 3, we have TNDan21, Larry and myself heading by a large margin. Yeah!, I know. I have nothing to do at work....ZZzzzz.....I actually have to supplement my posting madness with a daily dose of Howard Fodium 500ml when I run out of posts here DiverDown, you are not even close to be a top 20er. Sorry, not yet. Rich, you will get there someday. Kenster, keep posting news articles. You'll get to the top 20 by the year 2020 according to my Microsoft Excel analysis. Here's the Top 20 Countdown and the number of posts: 1) 4144 bobolito 2) 3374 larry 3) 3264 TNDan21 4) 2660 AnthroMatt 5) 2615 aiwapro 6) 2510 Jack 7) 2166 KevinJames 8) 1819 njsvrzncdma 9) 1623 Matt 10) 1564 IdiOTeQnoLogY 11) 1455 Cenobyte 12) 1438 Airb330 13) 1074 rallykid 14) 1051 ZaphodB 15) 1041 PjayzcivicHd84 16) 967 jmccrane 17) 935 roamer1 18) 901 cryogenic 19) 845 ILUVSOCAL 20) 826 northform
According my profile I joined WA on 12-21-2001. I posted anonmously but not for long. I guess my 2 year anniversary isn't to far off
IIRC, something happened in October 2001. I think WA changed to a new server or something along those lines. So any users before Oct. 2001 got their join date reset to 10/2001. So KevinJames is actually older than the profile says. By the way, we have 30,000 threads and over 20,000 users! congrats WA! We're quickly approaching HoFo. I remember a year ago I was surprised when we went over 2000 users.
