Ovi is the name of Nokia's app store. Not quite sure where they came up with the name, but that's what it is.
Here's a couple of free apps I'd reccomend for Symbian: Turns your phone into a "mifi" terminal: Joiku - JoikuSpot Light PhoneNetInfo will show you a "field test" type of screen about cellular info (note: you need to self-sign it or it won't work) Frei Software Development - PhoNetInfo ...and if you like geeky stuff like that, you could try my Cellumap app as well (if your phone has GPS), more info here: Cellumap: Phone Application
