Will slider phones brake just from normal usage?

Like any mechanism it will eventually give, that can also apply to hinges on a flip phone, i think with normal use the phone will last well until you desire the next "in phone"...;)

My RIZR felt very solid, alot better than the Kyocera slider i owned at one point in the past.

In my brief experience with slider phones (I owned one for 26 hours before I took it back) was that it was very strange for me to use, but I've always had flip phones before that. The dealbreaker was that the phone could not hold onto a call, so I took it back and never got another.

The RIZR is a very solid phone. I like it very much. My only gripe is the fact that the keypad is small. I would accidently push buttons all the time when making a call. It felt excellent in my hand and the camera worked fairly well. Im not really a slider person but you cant go wrong with the RIZR...if its yo style. :browani:

I like the fact that you can just scroll through your contacts and hit the send button, without the need to slide the phone up to make a call. So far the speaker on this seems to be loud enough.

That's the reason i sold mine, the upper keys we're too uncomfortable and cramped for my use, especially when texting.

The biggest complaint I have with the phone so far is the fact that when I slide the phone to the up position, I accidentally hit the received calls key every time. And the fact that when the phone is down the back light goes out and the lock comes on after only 5 seconds. I tried to reset the back light timer but that apparently only applies while the phone is up.

Are you sure that phone in the picture isn't the Z6? The keypad is different on that one as compared to the Z3 that I got from TMobile.

I like the keypad on the Z3 better. The number keys are spread out more making it easier to dial by feel.

That picture was taken a few months back at CES. Does the Z3 have a flash on the back?

The only thing with this model is that it doesn't have the rubberized texture like the Z3 does, and that would mean fingerprint magnet as is the case with the KRZR.

Agreed, hence the reason i said like the blue flat finish on the z3...

i'm glad T-Mobile got the blue color, mine was black but i think it looks so much better in blue, same goes for my KRAZR.

Here's another RIZR style handset the Z8, i like how this one contours as if to fit around one's face: wonder who's going to pick this one up?

^ My guess on who would pick up the Z8 would be at&t due to TMobile getting the Z3 out already. at&t seems to always be one step ahead of TMobiles phone line up. :twocents:

The Z8 was unearthed by Motorola not too long ago. From what I know, there isn't any carrier offers this cellular phoen rignt now. We have reviewed the Z8 phone (http://www.handcellphone.com/archiv...e-the-whoa-phone-that-live-up-to-expectations)

Long story short: Motorola Z8 cell phone include 2.2 inches QVGA (240 x 320 resolutions) 1.6 millions color LCD Screen, MP3 / AAC /AAC+/AAC+E music player, 90MB internal memory and micro-SD expansion slot supports up to 4GB.

It is powered by a 300-MHz TI OMAP2420 processor and Symbian OS 9,2

On my way to work today it lost reception in two places where my V360 and V195 both had service, at least 2 bars. Also on the first floor of the hospital where everyone else's phone works, this thing had to search for service. Now I have to listen to everyone telling me that they knew that I would return it. Also I don't think I can get use to the flimsy slide mechanism on the RIZR either.

Flimsy, that's strange, that was actually one of the things i liked about the RIZR, how solid the slide mechanism felt compared to others i've used, as far as RF, i had no problem on that department with mine.....

In my case case the reason i got rid of it was like i said before, uncomfortable keypad when texting.
