The screen on these things is excellant. I really like the way the phones look an I like the picture and everything. Good looking phone. I just hope that it holds up like the rest of the LG's reception wise.

The VX7000 shows up in my area, the zip code is 30144.

So far my 7000 has worked great. This phone has a new user interface that did not take me long to get used to. The charger is a cord as opposed to desktop charger, and while I'm not sure how the VX6000 belt clip works, this one allows you to open/use the phone w/o removing it from the clip, similiar to the Motorola V60 series phones.

One thing I have noticed is that you cannot enter "Vibrate Mode" (i guess they renamed manner mode) with the phone closed, you must hold down * for two seconds or select your ringer volume to vibrate only.

One more thing that is different from the other VX series of phones, when you go to select the ringer volume there is no "vibrate & hi" option. At first I thought that they had disabled it after having problems with that in the other VX series phones. About half an hour later, I found "call vibrate" and "alert vibrate" under the "call sounds" and "alert sounds" menus respectivly. This will make the phone vibrate and ring (simoultaniously, similiar to the nokia phones) regardless of the ringer volume setting.

Just thought I would mention that because I'm sure other people would be dissapointed as I was when I did not see a vibrate and high ringer option.

The screen is also bigger than either the 4400's or 6000's, and it displays much clearer images.

I haven't had my phone for 24 hours, but those are the biggest things that stand out to me so far. Any other questions just let me know and I'll do my best to get them answered.

EDIT: The vx7000 also has the 2-minute reminder like the motorola phones.

the 7000 is pretty cool. very impressive display :) deffinetly better video quality than the rigged-up 6000 video options. it's still kind of bulky though.

One thing that stands out to me with my new phone is that you can place the picture of the person you are calling or being called by on the screen, which is pretty cool.

ah the simple things in life, this is an old trick for many camera phones, the nice feature with this one is the picture is displayed on the outer LCD. only problem is tracking down all your friends so you can get pictures of them

Saw the VX7000 at a VZW store on saturday. It's huge!!! Other than the size, it seems like a pretty competent phone. If size is an issue, you will not want it.

the 7000 appears a good bit larger than the other LG phones, but it looks to me like is slightly thinner than my 4400. i guess it's this size to accomodate the large screen.

I was down in the Pine Barrens a few months ago and I made a call with pretty decent reception. I dunno if I was DEEP in the Pine Barrens, but I was impressed with my phone none the less.

Hey avi8tor, have you put in the wap settings for the 7000 yet? Does it look like the 4500 or is it like the 6000?

Don't they usually require the full retail packaging back when you exchange a phone during the 15 day trial?

That seams to be what I recall them telling me whenever I get a new phone.

Nope, haven't messed with the WAP settings for the 7000, I probably should sometime soon just to mess with it.

When you say "does it look like the 4500 or the 6000", are you referring to the user interface or wireless web?

I'm sorry, I meant the wireless web settings. I recall the 4500 throwing a new proxy setting in there and nobody new what to put in there.

well after checking out the 7k, going thru all it's features and holding it in my hands, i will pass on this one, the size is a bit big, but most of all didn't like the looks of this one in person, we'll see what the LG 6100, 8000, or Moto v710 will have to offer...next!

If it is WAP 2.0, like the 4500, I don't believe you will be able to get it to work with any of the free public portals.

Every indication is, the V710 is going to be large as well.

I wonder if the 7K makes those same faint high pitched tones that other LG folks have mentioned.

couldn't get the free WAP to work on the 7000, oh well, never used it much before anyway. so far I haven't noticed any of the "faint high pitched tones" that are present on some of the other LGs

Is the 7000 worth getting over waiting for the Moto V710? I've been holding out for the Moto out of loyalty (all my phones have been Motos since the analog StarTAC days), but the features of the 7000 look awesome and the price is not bad at all. I'm also thinking about the 810 as well, since from what have heard, it's gonna be on the heels of the 710. I'm gonna go try and check out the 7000 at VZW this weekend, but I'm curious as to people's opinions.

    Thanks,

    Danny
