  Why are the ads all of a sudden on the left side of the screen when they used to be on the right? I'm all discombobulated... can you move them back?

There was discussion in another thread that the ads forced the messages too far right, and you had to scroll to read everything.

What resolution are you running? As long as you're at 1024x768 or higher, you shouldn't have a problem.

I am at 1024x768, and I have to shut my favorites off to view without scrolling.

    Thanks

Oh, you keep your favorites panel open at the left? Yeah, that could do it.

If you're viewing a thread that has some wide images posted in it, or some long strings of text with no spaces, it could cause the screen to go wider also.

I have them blocked anyway, it's just unusual to see the threads being pushed to the right.

Lol there is nothing wrong with our computers, you guys moved the adds over. It's not like all of the sudden all of our computer just screwed up at once ;). I have a wide screen ad its just about to push things over to scroll left and right lol.

With the ad on the right, it would still cause your browser to have a scrollbar across the bottom. You wouldn't need to scroll since the messages were on the left and the ad was on the right (unless you wanted to scroll to see the ad), but it has the same affect.

Are the advertisers paying more for the more visible real estate on the left?

You can change the screen resolution somewhere in the Settings and in certain threads if I recall correctly. I think 800x600 is the default setting.

Maybe that's why they wanted to move them to the left, now they got your attention :p

I don't have a problem reading them this way with my screen resolution at the 1024x648 I just find it a bit hard getting use to with them on the right & I can see where Charlyee is having more of a problem by keeping the favorites opened vs the ad's being on the right.

Newer computers with XP have a 1024x768 standard. It's rare to have an 800x600 default. My laptop is 1280x768 standard because it has a wide screen.

I know what you mean Gideon, I have mine set to 1024x768 as well but by settings I meant the forum settings and not the XP Desktop settings.
