I've noticed lately that T-Mobile's phone selection is getting a little stagnant. I haven't seen any new releases lately (excluding PDA's, the Sidekick, and the like). Cingular has quite a nice selection now, and even Verizon is looking better. What's going on with T-Mo? Any ideas or opinions?
TM released a bunch of phones in the summer/fall last year, but nothing since. I have heard that there are a number of new phones upcoming, but I don't remember any specific model numbers or times, since the stuff I was getting was from a conference call and only general comments were being made. I'll try to find out more info.
The Samsung e335 will probably be out for T-Mobile before too long. Keep on the look out for a few new Motos also. I suspect the C155 will be out for T-Mobile in the not-too-distant future.
Could the phone selections be region-specific? When I was at T-Mobile almost two weeks ago, they had a decent selection of phones (and the SideKick).
no, it just depends on the ordering abilities of the store manager. a lot of the ordering is automated now. as the store's inventory depletes, a request is automatically sent tothe warehouse for restock....but sometimes the warehouse is low and has to delay shipment.
My most important phone selection will be the one with the best reception. Someone, I believe it was Larry, listed all the Sprint phones and their ability to grab and hold a RF signal. Does anyone have a similar chart for current Tmo phones? I need to know.
How about, in your experience, what phone has the power! Love my E105, wish it was a tri-band. I am considering switching my Sprint service to a second T-Mobile line and if they are going to "Give Me" a phone, is that Moto V300 any better than that poor Siemens CF62. Want a flip, hate them candy bar phones. All I care about is signal for voice, don't want no text, don't need no camera.
I think any phone is better than the Siemens. If you don't want any extras, consider the Motorola v180 too.
I am not a moto person, but for the current lineup I am very happy with my e315 It has a camera but is only $25 for new activations on the TM website after rebate. My Nokia 6010 was good as well.
The 315 is small but numbers are shown large on the display, easier to see when driving or in bright light. Same as my E105, I am probably going to grt one. I like large numbers. Wish it had automatic time display, wish it was a tri band, but all in all it will work for me. I was disappointed with the Motorola products at T-Mobile, small numeric display. Back on topic..... I do not like the T-Mobile phone selection. What's up with that?
The selection isn't that bad, but too many of their phones seem to have been around forever. They need fresh models out there. Hooray for third party retailers selling unlocked GSM handsets.
I just received my E315 and was happy to notice the time is set automatically, Oh Happy Day! Wish my 105 was the same......
