Well this is shaping up to be an unusual Summer. June gloom has become July gloom. It's completely overcast in the morning and considerably cooler during the day. Temps dropped more than ten degrees from yesterday. Barely made it to 82 today!!! This is the kind of Summer I can handle! I should watch what I say, though. August and September haven't arrived yet, and those are our two hottest months...
In the middle of the "Eastern heat wave" as reported by Weather.com. Currently: 93° F, Feels Like: 97° F in Cambridge, MA. That means it's not only hot, it's humid. Projected to reach 95°. Since I can't be at the beach, I'm happy to be at work in air conditioned comfort. SW
I don't envy you guys back east. It is amazingly cool and overcast so far. Only 68 degrees at Noon. Should hit the low 80s by 4 or 5pm. Kind of amazed it's this cool here. Normally we're hovering around 100 degrees by this time...
OK, we've been warned there is a major heat-up coming this weekend. It WAS supposed to arrive today, but... It didn't. Only hit 81 today (about 14 degrees below normal). Thankfully we're only going to be in our average temp range for July (about 92 to 96 degrees), so this isn't the oven-like death knell the East Coast experienced this week. In any case, I'll take this mild Summer for all it's worth. It beats the blazing Summers we had from 2005-08.
Well, it was inevitable...The heat is here! 100+ degrees for Thursday through next week. I wish mother nature was a man, 'cause I'd clock him a few times.
After late last week's (and the weekend too) nightmare heat wave, with temps hitting 110 with higher than normal humidity, we have cooled down tremendously. Last Thursday night/early Friday morning, the low never got below 78 degrees. Nowadays the highs are in the low 90s and nights hit the mid 60s. This is heaven weather compared to the oppressive heat of last week. If Summer stayed like it is now, I'd be fine. It's the awful heat waves that do me in.
sunny, 90 and high humidity. Stupid corn is tassled out and the pollen is making me feel worse. Of course it's just a big cycle - the corn puts a ton of moisture in the atmosphere & perpetuates the constant humidity. Why do I stay in Iowa????
Our mild Summer continues. Though temps have been in the mid-90s recently, this is well below normal for this time of year. By August, temps should be in the low 100s. Except for our nasty little heat wave in mid-July, it's been a wonderfully cooler Summer. I'll take it!
Supposed to cool off into the mid-80s this weekend. This is about 15 to 20 degrees cooler than normal. Gotta say I'm loving this Summer. Just hope Mama Nature doesn't singe us in September for getting off the (heat) hook in June, July, and August (though August is still young...).
Clear, sunny and in the mid 70s. It has cooled off a bit this week. I hope it gets hot again before summer ends.....I like it better when it is hotter.
Hot (89F) and humid (65%) with tornado and flood watch until 10:00 pm. BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.862 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102
Afte a week in San Luis Obispo County, on the Central Coast of California, where the weather was much colder for Summertime than usual (daytime highs in the 70s with cool breezes that made it feel much colder, and chilly (CA) night-time lows in the 40s), now I'm back in the L.A. area valley in 100 degree heat (normal for August). Quite a contrast. Still, this IS Summer, so the heat is no surprise, but after below average temps for most of the past 3 months, the heat can be slightly disconcerting. I'll live...
It's August, it's hot...Been about 100 degree most of the week, though still not as hot as it could be. I may be moving back to the beach in a few months, finally getting away from valley heat.
There's a possibility of a move back to Long Beach for me by October, if it all works out. Nothing definite so far.
It's definitely August! Temps will scream near 110 by the middle of the week... 5 more weeks of this and then I'll be within walking distance of the beach!!! I'm done living in an inland valley...
Well...Temps have "screamed" above 110. Today's high (so far) is 111. It's dry but still oven-like hot. I'm going to submit to the calendar makers my suggestion for the removal of August... As you can see from the image below, it's dropped 1 whopping degree! I sense a cooling trend... Still, it's proof of just how ridiculously hot it is (temperature display from The Weather Channel Desktop).
After last week's sojourn to hell, it cooled off amazingly on Sunday (only 76 for a high). Now temps are on the rebound. September tends to be our hottest month, so the 102 degree weather today to greet the new month is not a surprise... Just 30 more days of this insufferable valley heat, then it's back to the beach!
After last weekend where the temps hit 110 again, today was a complete reversal. It has been overcast all day and the mercury barely hit 70! This is major Fall-like weather. Unfortunately it won't last as it will heat up again this weekend, but hopefully into the more reasonable upper 80s-low 90s than the nasty 100s. My move back to the coast can't come soon enough!
high is 74 degrees today gona stay in the 70's all week, i hate the heat. its nice having the pacific ocean a few blocks from me
It's been in the low 90s this week, which is far better than the 100s it could be in since it IS September. Temps are supposed to cool down 10 degrees by the end of the weekend. Can't wait for the mid 60s and 70s of Long Beach...Just a week and a half away!
It will be down right chilly here today. It's only supposed to hit 72! Of course this cool-down is short lived as it is now Fall and that means Indian Summer in these parts. It's supposed to reach 105 by the weekend in the valleys. I'm hoping by Sunday to be completely moved to Long Beach, where it will be a comfy 82.
