I have a condition.....my body has an intolerance to gluten....which is the bonding protein in things like flour/oats/barley/wheat. It is the "glue" that holds together all your cakes/cookies/pies/crusts/pasta noodles/gravy's(flour is used to thicken it)/breads/pancakes/muffins/donuts...etc etc.

So...it sucks...I can't eat ANYTHING. I eat ALOT of salads with diced chicken. Burgers without the bun, etc. I can buy special cookies, bread, pancake mix but it is disgustingly expensive. I think I may go into the health food sales business. For me, a "special" loaf of bread = 4.99
Pack of 6 "special" donuts = 4.99 or 6.99 depending on which store I make it to
    "Special" Pancake Mix = 5.99

My snacks don't consist of twinkies, ho-ho's, zingers....no, no. I snack on cinnamon apple chips and carmel flavored rice cakes.

I've known since September '04 and can say that now I have been through worse things than quitting smoking 3 years ago  :(

Shizam, is this a genetic thing that hits in adulthood? The reason I ask is that I didn't start to develop my genetic predisposition to seasonal allergies until I was about 28. Did it surprise you? Or did you expect it to happen eventually?

It is kind of genetic.....my mom has the same intolerance....but instead of irritating her digestive organs, the flour (gluten) pools in her blood and she gets sores all over her body....they are just scab like sores wherever the flour pools up. Some doctors told her this is an autoimmune condition (where your body actually starts to turn against itself/fight itself) caused by lupus (sp?) the lady that diagnosed me said it really is caused by stress.....See, what happens when you are stressed, your adrenal glands secrete adrenalin....if you are always stressed, eventually you run out of adrenalin and production can't keep up with your body's demand. So, once you are out, your body kind of turns on you and starts fighting itself in reaction because there is no adrenalin.

My mom was way stressed out for years because of her job. I had some stress....but not alot.....at least to me(I thought it was normal...not out of the ordinary)....but who knows, maybe it was too much for my body.

I found this out when I was 27...so it can hit you at any time in anyone's life....not just this, but any allergy.

Incredibly delicious Italian food from a place down the street from where I live. They make these rolls that are so soft and huge. They pair it with whipped garlic butter. Very bueno!!! Oh, and their pasta dishes rock too!!

I really don't like Wendys anymore since I went to one in Moab, Utah, and it was the dirtiest and crappiest place I have ever seen. The food was so old and crappy I didn't eat what I ordered.
