Ok, lets put a different spin on the best phone thread. What was the WORST phone you have ever had?

I will start with the Motorola Krzr K1m. This is easily, unquestionably, the worse phone I have ever had. Sprint gave it to me for free after the Samsung a900/a900m debacle. There was simply nothing good about this phone, other than its looks. The phone was vastly under powered, and was terribly sluggish to the point of usability. If you had more than a few text messages stored, the entire phone slowed down until you manually went in and deleted them all.
Here is a cnet review: 'Terribly slow operating system.' - Motorola Krzr K1m (Sprint) user review and rating - CNET Reviews

This one is easy, the Motorola T720 on Verizon. I fell for the colored display but it drove me crazy.

The only thing good it did was bring me to WA, well it was good for me, I am sure not everyone shares that feeling. :D

For me it was the LG CU320. Worst phone I have ever owned. Had it for about 26 hours before I just could not stand it anymore, i packed it back in the box, and returned it to the store. Phone would drop calls on the sidewalk out front, my previous phone, a Motorola V551, could hold calls in my basement.

Oh man, the T720 was a real loser. Terrible reception on that thing.

Calling it a "worst" phone is probably unfair, but if you'll take a "least favorite" - it's my Moto L2. It has some nice features (periodic "reminders" for unread messages/voicemails, etc.); but even though I tried using it for several weeks I never adjusted to Moto's interface.

For me it's a tie between the Samsung a460 with Sprint and any LG phone I have personally had CDMA or GSM (VX4400, G4010, & G4050). And as bad as the T720 was it did better then these four phones for me. :headscrat

The Samsung a460 was a close runner up for me. It was my first Sprint phone. The reason it does not get the top honor is because of its styling and how small and light it is. I still have one at home. The reception on the a460 was just terrible. It was so bad to the point that if I knew I was going into NYC, I would ESN swap to a Sanyo for better reception.
But still, that phone was awesome looking, and people loved that walking panda.

Budney, I agree with the PITA Samsung a460!!! But, hands down, my worst phone was the LG L1150. The phone would reboot constantly and everything would be backwards. The camera never worked! ... The Samsung SCH a930 wasn't much better (dropped calls galore) although the phone was built like a tank.

#1 (by a Denver mile): Samsung SCH-a790 World Phone :censored: :censored: :censored:
    #2: Motorola Q
Dishonerable Mention: Kyocera 2235, Motorola T720/T730

    AT&T
    #1: LG L1400 :censored:

    T-Mobile
#1: Motorola RAZR V3 Black (Unlocked European Version)

My vehement hate for all phones Samsung came from the God-awful SCH-a790. Three censored smileys aren't enough to convey my absolute hate for that phone. Biggest waste of money EVER! The first Motorola Q was a disaster. Phone's charger port went bad. Poor Windows Mobile operation, and overall a mess. Don't even get me started on the Kyocera 2235 and the Moto nightmare T720 & T730. Went through two T720's before getting the T730 as a replacement.

The LG L1400 on AT&T was a complete disappointment. I couldn't believe how much it lacked in menu options versus Verizon LG's. The phone was a piece of crap. Never again an LG on AT&T or GSM for that matter.

The Black RAZR V3 gave me nothing but problems. I grew to dislike it quickly. Could never get data to work on it with T-Mobile, even with the configuration settings. Shelved it soon after buying it. It did get attention, though, as I had it 6 months before Cingular released their Black RAZR version.

The only problems I had with the Q was the sluggish OS. The phone itself was fine... but after getting 5 FRU Q's and having no desire to go back to the crazy Samsung A930, I ran to Blackberry LOL.

The LG L line of GSM phones were probably crappiest series of phones ever made... (See my rant on the L1150). I was glad when I downgraded to a Siemens A56 phone from that awful LG L1150 phone.

I never had much luck with Sony Ericsson phones on AT&T or T-Mobile. Mostly due to reception issues... gotta stick with Nokia or Motorola on those 2 carriers :(

It wasn't a "bad" phone - the main thing was I just never got used to the menu structure even after using it for a decent amount of time. :(

And my other dislikes were that it is so thin (depth-wise) that I had a hard time hanging onto it while actually using it; and the menu selection keys serve as the bottom rim for the display glass, so as I'd use the phone's keys for longer periods of time the glass would tend to slip down somewhat - I was constantly having to push it back up into place. lol.

I'm at the point now that mom needs a new phone again, and I can't find any new Motos that use the same type of menu structure as the L2 did. I was getting her V3's because she already knew the menu structure, and I would not have to teach her how to use it. Now her pink V3xx is wearing out, and I don't have a good replacement option out there.

My worse phone was the NEC, not sure if it was the 525 or 515. I had the phone for about as long as it took me to bring it home, too bulky for my tastes.

There is another device worth mentioning, my Treo Pro. I definitely did not hate it, infact I liked it very much.

However. I was very disappointed in the physical built quality. The case was prone to hair line cracks in many of the batches. Palm's service was excellent and they replaced my phone 3 times with refurbs and eventually gave me a brand new one and a vehicles charger.

Unfortunately this problem somewhat tainted my opinion about what was an excellent device otherwise. I kept it for 13 months which is a record for me. The only other one I kept for over a year was my Treo 750 for 15 months.

I always felt the KRZR was a neat phone, but way overpriced for what it was. If I saw a GSM model at a yard sale I'd pick it up, but I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it.

I don't know if the GSM model was plagued as badly as the CDMA model was, but man was it bad. The motorola OS on phones back then was terrible, and it clearly did not have enough memory to do what it needed to do.

Kyocera K2 (swivel phone). Phone shorted out 13 months after I got it (on the 4th of July). Got it replaced, but switched phones early when the second phone started acting up.

LG's GSM phones? YES. Not all of their Verizon phones have been junk. Some have, but there have been quite few that were stellar.

I agree, I get "yelled" at every time I say this but my VX 6000 was a great phone and quite hi tech comparatively.

I am in total agreement with you regarding the A460. Without a doubt, the worst phone I have ever used. That thing couldn't hold a signal unless you were within feet of a tower. OK, that might be a slight exaggeration, but that phone was the biggest POS ever.

I used the VX4400 on VZW and don't seem to recall any major issues with that one, however.

The a460 is the inspiration for the tag line I have in my signature. Great looking device, terrible phone. Wow, typical Samsung, even back in 2001!
