Hurricane Katrina - I didn't like that storm. I couldn't go back to my House for 4 weeks and I couldn't move back in for 5 Months. My business was wiped out. and my rental property all flooded. my friends and neighbors displace or gone and on and on :nopity: But at least our polititians are still the same:rolleyes:

    among other weather:

Hurricane Cindy (2005) the eye went over my house)
    Blizzard of 79. (Chicago)
a tornado while in the pizza joint (chicago suburb)
couple of low pressure systems while sailing in the gulf
Really after Katrina severe weather perception changes.
I wouldn't want to be in an earthquake a large tornado or anyhting as horrific as the Tsumnami last year.

Gamer - it wasn't quite that type. It was like that - but it had another set of the thin clouds underneath that weren't really part of the upper cloud, KWIM? I wish my pics had turned out. Maybe I have to zoom in & I will see it.

The storm clouds you took were great! Pond or river in the backyard?

You can sort of see it in the lower right corner of this one:

I know what you mean. The picture that I took is of the pond behind our house...even though I have heard people call it a lake . I can't wait until the thunderstorms. I love predicting which way they will go...plus I will be able to get my 1000 channel scanner/weather /emergency radio out. :)

Mostly thunderstorms, hail, lots of rain, lightning, ice storms, snow every now and then, and some really hot days every now and then. Oregon is like that...
you really never know what your gonna get.

How about a Volcanic Ash storm. I went through that as a kid in Portland when MT.Saint Helens erupted. We were up here shopping when it blew. There was ash everywhere!

The one time I was back in St.Louis and down in Texas, luckily I didn't ever encounter Tornados or hurricanes...

Down in Keizer (suburb of Salem) a twister did touch down in a quiet dead end street and demolished one house.... just one. Freaky!

Here are some pictures of the weather that I was driving into on my way up to my campus (some pictures are of the parking lot on my campus) this afternoon (around 4:30 pm) for my summer class:

    Your welcome our3rotts.

I love weather and the different ways that clouds form around a thunderstorm. Even though the clouds were dark looking, and the thunderstorm had a lot of thunder and lightning in it, and knocked power out at a few places north of me (one was the studio for Wink (CBS), since the person on the radio for the drive at 5 said that they were on back up generator power)), the day started out party cloudy with only a few clouds in the sky, so I could literally see the thunderstorm build up from start to finish. ;)

I am just glad that I have a decent camera on my cell phone (the E815 also took good pictures). :)
