Alright, I've been here over eight years and I have 490 post I want to get my post count up over 500, but posting nonsense to get your post count up is dumb and rude. I guess I have to be creative! So, to make this thread look like it contributes to the community, I shall post a survey. What kind of forum poster are you? I post whenever you can, and I am faithful to keeping up with and contributing to WA. I seldom post, but I am still faithful to keeping up with and contributing to WA. Duh, I suck because I don't care about contributing to WA. I just like to post. Duh, I suck because you may see me for today, and then never again. (BTW, there is seldom a day that goes by that I do not visit this place. You may not know me, but this place is awesome and I love it.)
I'm cyclical. Sometimes I read and post fervently for weeks... then weeks go by and I haven't even logged in.
Well, I was bored so I was looking at some of the very old post. I realized that some people have been around as long as I have (2002) and they have on average twenty times the post I do. Looks like someone needs to speak up more around here and not just read. Oh well, I post when I feel like what I say really does contribute, except right this second. This is just an attempt to get over 500 by the end of the week! How about you all? I have always followed some of you guys, (Jay, Bobolito) but not in that creepy stalkerish way. :loony: HAHA. This place is great, I just hope it does not take me another eight years to get to 1000 post.
I don't do a lot of posting, I mostly lurk... (And ban spammers and other nefarious creatures) Yep, I'm here often and post often as well.
Is that what it is called? A Lurker? I guess that is what I am. Looks like I did not get my 500 post by Friday.
I guess I'd say I'm the second one - "seldom post but am faithful (sorta) with keeping up with and contributing to WA". I'm more sporadic in visiting than I'd like to be. I like WA specifically for it's more broadly based news of wireless events and technology discussions. But that's kind of a double edged sword - as I really like helping people with their phones/service the best. lol. And there just aren't as many questions like that out here, so I tend to gravitate to the carrier's (at&t) forums more on a day to day basis when I get busy with the other things in "life". And I really enjoy reading the technical discussions at WA; however, I struggle with actually comprehending it at the more detailed levels, so I don't feel I can really contribute anything of value and am more of just a "lurker" in those threads.
Simon5282 I'm really glad you posted this thread and poll. First, it made me chuckle. Second, it is motivating to hear your thoughts about the forums. Thanks! BTW, I voted the first option. I think most of the regulars on here have more knowledge about cell phone than I do. My cell phone knowledge was pushed out of my head by the forum running stuff. :O
I'm just replying, adding information when I can. I've been at it for eight and a half years. I believe I've only started one thread. COtech
I've been here since 2008 and I'd have to go with option 1. I was on a bit of a posting spree throughout last year, not so much now. If I do, it's mainly in the tower hunting section.
I put #2 - used to be a #1 - but then had baby #2 and got a different job, so was gone for while. Now I'm back to having a customizable phone and so feel like I can have some contributions again! Nik
Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile G1: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; T-Mobile G2 Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1(KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1) I'm not sure any of these apply to me. Of course I suck, because I have phases of frequent posting, and then I tend to disappear for a while. But I still value WA and the expertise of the members here. So put me down as a 2.5. SW
I too have been around these parts for a while. Back when I joined cell phones by different companies were exciting to wait in anticipation on what new feature they would bring. Ever since the iPhone came out there really hasn't been any "Wow" feature from other companies. It has been a race to catch up to the iphone (which Android is definitely close). So to the point there used to be a lot more stuff to post about because I used to get a new phone every year. Now, just get new iphones LOL. I try to come back though and catch up on things when I think about it.
