right now i STILL have a t720 and finally have enough extra cash to justify an upgrade however i've already used my phone upgrades via verizon and don't want to extend my plan so i need to buy a phone retail price.

what do you guys recommend for a phone? vx6000? samsung? i'm up for suggestions.

also, where do you suggest i purchase from?

    thanks a lot!

1.) Turn Private mesaging on so that people can contact you off the main forums.

2.) Look in the Marketplace Forum ad start sending some private messages.

    3.) Ebay (buyer be ware).

4.) What are you looking for in a phone?

1.) Thank you for turning private messaging on. [IMG][IMG]

2.) Define best all around? Camera or no? Analog or no? Speaker phone or no? If you don't have some priorities you are going to get way too many answers to this question. What features/abbilities mean the most to you?

Unsestand that CDMA handsets(Verizon and Sprint) Wil not get as good standby battery time as GSM handsets will. Talk time on Average with most Verizon phones is 3+- hours. The 6000 and the a530 are both good choices for what you say. Is size a consideration? RF?

neither the 6000 or the A530 has analog, which you may decide you want if reception is a big factor. It will make it so you might have reception in some places where the 6000 and a530 (both are dual band) phones will not

the 6000 is a little bigger, has a camera, beautiful 252K color screen inside.

A530, nice small form factor, dual color screens

another one to look at is the Audiovox 8900 (im surprised Dru didnt reccomend it) it has analog, camera, and speakerphone.

Take a look at Verizon's website (or go to a store and see which one like the look of the most, I mean there are lots of decent phones out there you might as well find one you personally like)

what would be my best plan of action as far as where to purchase from? I'm skeptical about using ebay... would like to find some online retailer that has decent prices but if the price is the same everywhere i might just head over to the verizon store. let me know what you think. thanks

I would say you should go to a store and see which phones you like best. since you dont seem to be too picky on the features it would really come down to which one you like the best. I love my 4500, it has a great speakerphone and i am starting to get the voice dialing to actually work. It really comes down to which YOU like the best. The a530, 6000, 4500, 8900 have all gotten pretty good reviews so you cant really go wrong with any of these. I would just see which one you like the best.

the 610 i personally see as a bad phone ... it is a flip phone with 1 display (the display swivels) I havent heard many reviews about it though.

why is the vx4500 more expensive than the 6000? i think im torn between the 4500 and 8900 at this point.. i like the idea of the 2-way speakerphone and think id use it a lot more than i would camera...

If speaker phone is the priority get the 4500. Better speaker phone than the Vox. The Vox Camera though is so much fun. I have a story in pictures to post to the off topic forum later.

The Vox Speaker phone just isn't as good/usefull as the 4500. They are both ussable in my room but the Vox is worthless in a Car unless its a realy quiet car were as the 4500 does better in that arena. The v60s though Trounces them 150-0.....FOOTBALL SCORE!
