    hey

What is everyones favorite wireless carrier? Why is it your favorite? I have been with Verizon for a few years and still am impressed with them. I never hear anything good about sprint, AT&T or Cricket.

Verizon :cheers2: because they can cover me in Utah and Iowa with Night and Weekend minutes and I can use more than 50% of my calls off there network and not have my phone shut off. :rasp:

Before 2003 heard many great comments on AT&T
    They just goofed up :loony:

Sprint is doing tons better than they did back in 2001 and 2002
some people with Verizon hear better offers and are goin to Sprint :bigear:
I hear of very few problems today, except from 2 of there affilates that are not doing to well in the midwest and south

Cricket (Leap wireless) is a small PCS provider that is slowly growing. They still have call capacity problems and I think large debt still. There plans are improving so they are doing better. Most of the small PCS providers do unlimited minutes. What would happen to Verizon if they did unlitmited minutes for $99.99 their network would be overloaded almost 24/7

The best wireless company is the one that works where and when you need it, and has the features you need. For our area of Northern California (Lake and Mendocino Counties), Verizon is NOT the best carrier, and they have the worst coverage, I have Cingular and AT&T and they serve me best, your mileage may vary as they say :)

the best? i don't think that can be answered. my favorite though would be sprint. when i signed up in 98 i thought they had the nicest phones and i believe were one of the first to have a plan where as long as you were on their network then you weren't roaming--that was great for someone who travels a lot across the country.

I have to agree with you 2. On my egde wireless I had to go to Salt Lake City to the VA hospital last week and from Moreland, Idaho to Salt Lake City i just about had full bars all the way. The week before I was in Island Park and had good coverage for that area plus the coverage I get in Salmon and Challis. When they switched me back to tdma they still give me the new plan of 1200 anytime minutes and free long distance and night and weekends. The tdma does not bother me if I can make a call from wear I am. You be right, it depends on wear you are.

Regarding your PW, is your email address a Hotmail domain? If it is, turn your junk mail filter completely off. That's what I had to do to get my PW reset. I don't know why it works that way, but it does. Otherwise, I am stumped, which really isn't saying much... :thumb:

In the Catalina foothills of Tucson, AZ, T-Mobile has been the best service I have found. Verizon and Alltel are on Analog, and Sprint drops too many calls. AT&T GSM is good up here too, but I'm not sure about them yet...

I think that ILUVSOCAL hit the nail on the head, and I too have to agree with him. :smilebig:

But for me, I would have to say Sprint :thumb: since they cover my house and my college campus the best, since Verizon only covered my house and their coverage on campus SUCKED SO BAD.... :speechles

AT&T has a great network in Utah (where they are cellular provider) that is probably what you were on when you got in Utah.

I think you are right about at&t in Utah. and on the other end it is USCC. At least I don't pay no roaming or nothin. Just be waiting to see how things change in the months ahead with everthing changeing.

I travel all over the country on business with some of my co-workers and we
all have different carriers.Based on what i can see from all of our phones, this is how i rate all the carriers. This is just my opinion which i may be correct or very close to it:

    (1) Verizon Wireless
    (2) Sprint Pcs
    (3) Cingular Wireless
    (4) AT&T Wireless
    (5) US Cellular
    (6) Nextel
    (7) T-Mobile

This is based on our actual calls that we make and receive while traveling and
also while we are either indoors or outdoors. Also, this is based on me traveling at least (200)day's out of (365)day's of the year. Also, this is based on calls that are being completed and being dropped as well.

In the Fairfield County, CT area (NYC metro area) Verizon is the most dependable. Want to make a call, chances are a signal will be there.

Sprint! By far! :D I believe they have the best cellular service, in terms of range, reception, coverage, features, plans, equipment, options, etc. Although their customer service sucks at times, when it does work out for you, it REALLY works out! The beautful thing about their CS is the fact that you really don't have to wait forever to get a real live human being to talk with and, for the most part, your issue(s) can be resolved in one call. That's my experience, anyway. They often give little "perks" and lots of free trials for different services and features, which is nice.

Scope THIS out: for the first time in 3 years I had actually gone over my 2000 minutes in a single month. I had $58 in overage. I explained my situation, which was (at least for me) somewhat unusual, the exception rather than the rule, which arrived at me going over my minutes for the first time. I also upgraded my plan to 3500 anytime minutes (unlimited after 7 and on weekends). The supervisor pulled out some minutes credit and covered my overage plus something like 41 minutes extra to last me for a few days until my cycle re-started. Also, when I switched landline carriers to Sprint (from SBC) local (they already have my long distance and I get 50 minutes free each month), I qualified to have my already existing 2nd cell phone line free every month! Yeah, that's just $20 but it DOES add up. AND they gave me a $50 credit on my cell phone bill just for making that switch. To top it off, their landline service for more of what I need for cheaper than what I paid SBC for!

Reception is excellent in many areas my friends with AT&T, Cingluar and T-Mobile get, and we're in the Los Angeles area. They just flip out when they see me having a solid conversation (no fading, either!) through the Sepulveda Blvd. tunnel on the way to/from LAX airport or the I-105 to I-405 interchange tunnel. I used to be with MCI Worldcom, which used AT&T's system....and was subject to chronic frequent dropped calls and waiting LONNNNG times to get a voice that wasn't computer-generated.

The phones are awesome, and I've tried several models out (I'm hearing impaired so selecting a phone to meet my needs takes lots of trials) and upgraded from time to time to new tech. My current phone is the RL-4500 (Sanyo 5000). The flash sucks, but everything else is top-of-the-line.

Oh! And the BEAUTY of Sprint is....with the unlimited internet access, I could surf the 'net (with my data cable and laptop) or watch TV on my cell phone (via a single download called MobiTV) 24/7, if I want, without touching ANY of my minutes. Now...if they can only get a Pocket PC phone that is actually small enough to BE a phone, not just a really good wireless PDA.....but I probably won't have too long to wait. :)

Sprint has not sold Cellular Service since 1996.
Sprint uses more people that don't work for Sprint Spectrum than the other providers do. I have many friends who do Sprint PCS CS, and non of them are working for Sprint Spectrum. Since they don't work for the company and turnover is very high, that is why Sprint PCS customer service sucks. They are always bringing in new people to handle the customer service.
Probably all national wireless providers have overflow CS at peak times to take care of high volume of questions. This is why you might get a CS person with Verizon or Cingular that does not work for the wireless provider.

Sprint has done a good job since 2001 in getting up more towers in Metro areas. Have to say that they are getting closer to Verizon in most metros now.
Sprint Sometimes get CDMA phones out faster than the rest. Since summer 2002 Sprint has had fewer phones recalled than Verizon has.
The one thing I see that Sprint does and Verizon does not do. Still have to pay for PCS vision, but you get all the features Verizon is tring to get you to pay for each thing on Get It Now.

Overall I still say Verizon is the best, but Sprint and T-mobile are both narrowing the gap.

    ok mike you are right!
I am not here to rip on anyone! Just give my knowlege and spin on wireless topics.
I would always choose the plans and coverage of what you need and not always The Cellco Partnership for all wireless needs.
