I was just wonder what benefit I would get from turning on the Location finder? Does anyone find that this feature helps in reception?

According to the manual, turning on will make "Some Sprint applications easier to use"

    Like What??

Currently, Sprint is only using this for E911 (Emergency 911 locator)

Well its like a GPS system it can detect on sprints netwerk your location and provide u with faster service pending the area u are in suposidly. and like he said offer u better service.. but i think its a way sprint keeps an eye on u! ie. marketing perhaps and where people travel on the network.... i usually turn it off,lol ohwell!

Which, by the way, will work even if the location finder is turned off.

    True, true.

I've read some of the developer posts and they're frustrated at Sprint's crawling pace at enabling GPS capabilities. It would be nice if Hollywood.com, for instance, only showed me (and automatically) the movies for the city from which I was calling. The same thing goes for weather. Most web sites are using cookies to track default settings, and really ambitious programmers can calculate your state using your IP address. Unfortunately, it's based on your ISP so with Sprint PCS Vision it shows Virginia while I'm actually in Tennesee/Georgia border geographically. [IMG]
