I drive a red 1986 Honda Civic Si I affectionatly call, The Lunchbox. It looks like a P.O.S. but the engine is indestructible and eventually, after I go to school I'll be able to "pimp" my own ride and fix it up. The Lunchbox? That's 1.5L of pure tire-screeching doom, my friends.
Ask away brother. I will warn you that I am trained specifically on GM products, that is what I know. When it comes to other stuff, I know the Basics, but any specifics on something like a Honda or a Ford I probably wouldn't be much help.
After reading all of the posts and all the nice cars that the people here are driving, I am embarrassed to say I drive a 95 Caravan, well that was up until the transmission went out today!!!!! Now you know what I am doing this weekend......
A 1997 Dodge Neon Highline, 4 door, great little car, and gets AWESOME gas mileage, a big plus!! I look at those people with those gas hogging SUV's and just wonder how they can afford to run them all over.
Sounds like a rat box But cool....those are fun...my brother-in-law has that rat box that is in Fast and Furious 2, the Lancer EVO.

Talk away.... I love cars.. I may not know everything about them...but I love them. the car that I learned to drive in was a 1985 Buick Somerset Regal..Limited edition 2 door coupe. I LOVED THAT CAR. It was a great car...but it finally went to car heaven. I grew up on the race track circuit. My mom (yes my mom ) was a stock car driver. My biological father begin as a racer...but he sucked... everyone said my mom was better... So he fixed them ...she drove them. I met Bobby Allison and Richard Petty when I was younger... and I even rode around in the cars during races sometimes (don't tell anyone :browani: ) So now I have my 1986 Camaro.... and I LOVE IT! Reminds me of the good ole' days. I haven't souped it up or anything. It does have a flowmaster muffler on it and the engine is beautiful. I keep it in tune and check all the time. It did have the low profile tires on it...but I didn't like the ride..so I put stock tires back on it... GM's huh... ??? :browani:
Well....someone told me that you should drain your trans fluid, filter, etc once per year....and not every 50,000 or 100,000 miles like the manufacturer suggests. Reason I was given was that little pieces of metal become more numerous over time in the trans fluid, rubbing and sliding by all the trans guts causing damage over time, so you have to change the fluid to keep the metal shavings/pieces down. In my old car (Old's Alero) I had the trans flushed at whatever they advised....I think it was 80,000 miles or so. My trans started skipping here and there and became more numerous after 100,000 miles. Now I've got my Jeep Cherokee and don't want anything bad to happen to the trans. Should I flush it?
1987 Volvo 740 Turbo/Intercooled S/W , 305000 Km.. I always keep up routines , if you've changed the tranny Fluid every year keep doing it , if you havn't don't
1990 Black Honda Accord baby! Babe magnet!!!. Only 127K on it though, should be good for 75K more. Here it is in winter....
2003 BMW 325i, gray metallic. Small cars are cool. My wife drives a 2002 Honda Accord, blue, which she likes.
Accords are nice dependable cars, i have a 1997 Special Edition with 50k miles on it, and just bought a 1994 Accord EX with only 60k on the odometer...... sold my 1996 Accord LX with 154k on it and last year i sold my 1990 Accord LX with 275k on the odometer, the person i sold it to says it's still going strong...wow!
i have a Toyota Echo....i get a whoppin' 40 miles per gallon Love the car....i can pretty much fit into any parking space, and with the gas prices at its all time high....i have no complains
My outlook on trans services is every 30,000 miles or so depending on use. Alot of newer GM vehicles say 100,000 miles, but I wouldn't do that to mine. From what I know about Chrysler products, they don't do many "long life" things on there vehicles, so I would guess your Jeep calls for service every 30,000 for the trans. I look at all services the way I look at oil changes, "oil is cheap, engines aren't". There is no such thing as "over maintaining" a vehicle. people miss alot of things, they think just changing the oil and putting gas it is enough. Fuel filters are probably the most overlooked thing on a car. I recently had to replace a fuel pump on a truck because the owner never replaced the fuel filter, it plugged up and burned out the pump. $600 bill because they didn't replace a $20 filter . Fuel and air filters every 30,000, oil changes every 3,000, and put gas in it when it is low(yes, I have had cars towed in for that!).
2003 v-6 Accord. Its my first forign car and I take alot of crap for it seeing as though I live in Michigan, but oh well, I love it anyway.
i really like the style of the 2003-2004 Accord, also like my fifth generation Accords 1994 EX and 1997 SE, didn't like the 98-2002 too much, what body style is yours? coupe or sedan?
Maybe we should all get GM vehicles........then if something happens, we can ask Buickman for his opinion on what to do, and how much the repair would cost......j/k
A 2002 Mercedes 320SLK; wife's car is a 2002 Mountaineer - somebody's got to be practical. Seems like a who cares topic but since I didn't have anything else to discuss, figured I'd get my 100th message tonight.
The reason why i stoped playing with my phone: Got rid of the old '91 Camry (that thing only had 130k miles, but it was getting up there in the years and it was starting to show in body and suspension) and got a 2004 Mazda3 5 door. Both manual of course.
I drive an '02 Daewoo Leganza...what's a Daewoo you ask? Yeah I get that a lot. It's a Korean automobile maker and it was a great deal.
