I think it'd be interesting to know what everyone does around here for money. We know what each other look like, what cars we drive, which phones we use.....now how do we pay for it? I am a sophomore at the University of Delaware (Major: Wildlife Conservation Minor: Biology), but I am working with the Delaware Solid Waste Authority this summer. I am an engineering intern. Not exactly related to my major (it's sort of environmental engineering), but it looks good on a resume, and pays well.
To all my unseen friends, I hope you will still answer my posts after this. After 35 years I am retired. I servered our gov't as a tax auditor. Look at it this way, I made sure the other guy paid the correct tax, so that your tax would be as low as possible.
Computer Support I HATE it, and can't wait for the day I get out of computer stuff. Hopefully that will be coming up really soon.
Thanks for looking after me I am what we call a business systems analyst (insurance industry). This means I own certain applications and help set the requirements for them, test them, support them, etc.
wireless voice and data.. sales and employee training. and on the side i have a few computer and web projects going- web design and maintenance for local small businesses and families.
I'm currently employed as a full time bum. My duties consist of laying around the house and doing nothing, watching TV, eating, sleeping, and being on the computer many hours a day. It doesn't pay much but it's a easy job.
Paralegal specializes in Corporate and Securities Law. Kinda have nothing to do w/ tech stuff....but hey...i am the techie in my department...no one calls IT (which you have to wait 24 hours before they can get to your problem, they usually issue you a ticket # first) when they have a computer/cell phon/electronics problem....they come straight to my office
LOL I did the same thing for years. I'm new to WA (spent the last couple years on Zaurus and Clie forums, and even phonescoop *shudder* - mostly as a lurker), so "hi everyone". Self-employed in web-based corporate training.
PC Support for a Japanese bank. So you really hate it? I don't like what I'm doing now but want to move onto something more challenging like programming.
Hey that sounds like my job. LOL But of course I have a large trust fund to fall back on so it doesn't really matter.
I am President and part owner of an Environmental and Safety Consulting Firm. My particular area of expertise is industrial waste water technology and safety management development consulting for industrial plants. Basically this means I am chief bottle washer and flunky.
Any benefits??? Where would one apply to do this job, & where did you gain your qualifications???
well from Monday-Friday i'm a Radiologist assistant, and also work in the billing dept of the same clinic, on weekends i'm a Club and Mobile DJ...
It's one of those work at home jobs. It took 24 years of sitting on my a** to perfect it so it might take you some time before you become good at being a bum. It takes years of practice.
I have settled for being a Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Tech. Doesn't sound like much, but it pays well and I work for the best company in Columbus and I'm good at it, so thats something. Plus I get good tips. Last week I got 48 bottles of Michelob light from one happy customer. mmmmmmm!
Programming? Ugh....I give you TONS of credit if you go that route. Programming is VERY tedious and stressful...your opportunities will be endless though. IT jobs nowadays are slimming down. Unless you are a senior level programmer/analyst/manager you are pretty much out of luck.
