I was teasing, but thanks for the info. as I didn't realize how the 89 and 91 come to be. Mainly gas prices just baffle me - why "regular" is $3.86 at one Conoco and $3.71 at another one only one mile up the street !! And it stays that way for days - it's not just that one station hasn't heard and matched the other quite yet. Only thing that I can figure is one station is corporately owned and the other is not.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es70) The fact that some are corporately owned may very well be a factor in addition to any overhead that they may already have. I heard recently that Exxon Mobil plans to sell off 2,200 company-owned stations because they are non-profitable. Another thing that I am starting to see is that some stations are posting cash only prices to draw customers in. Typically, there will also be a smaller sign with a higher credit card price that most customers will miss until they pull in.

$4.09 / Gallon yesterday for 87 Unleaded @ the Valero Station yesterday. It seems that in my area, the gas prices have sorta leveled off, & in some instances have even decreased a few cents...

$4.06 in Ashburn VA at Exxon. At the Safeway suppermarket, with A SAFWAY station next to it, they have an offer if your suppermarket bill is $50 or more then one would get 20 cents off for each gallon ones puts in the car, so 10 gallons yields to $2 off.

There's a Safeway that does that in Ashburn? The only one I knew about in the area that had gas was the Safeway in Bristow, on the south side of Manassas.

Was able to pay $3.74 earlier at Murphy USA in Gaffney with the Wal-Mart gift card. This area's average is currently $3.78 - $3.85.
Still holding at $4.21 for 89 at Shell, that gave me roughly 7.50 gallons. As said my jeep is not good on gas, but when the days are sunny and beautiful you forget about the price of fuel. Driving with the top and doors off while blasting off the beaten path or your daily drive gives you this sense of freedom and appreciation for what we should be grateful for.
