Many people don't want E85 if they can get real GAS because of the poor mileage. However IF it were priced right, I believe that it would sell. And if it were made of cellulose etc. not corn or soy, food prices would be lower. Just paid $3.60 for 87 at HESS in Philadelphia area.
Well I stopped going there due to it being only a few cents cheaper and getting worse mileage. The last time I went to Raceway was late last summer. I pay a few cents extra and get more mileage.
Yeah, it needs to be at least $0.30 cheaper than gas to account for the reduced mileage. Also if the tarriff were removed from foreign ethanol it would be a lot cheaper. -Jay
There is nothing wrong with it. When you quote something, the quoted text is always in italics. your original post is correct. -Jay
There was, the word HESS did not show up in "BOLD" & "DARK GREEN" due to a misplaced paranthesis in Jerro's original post and in your post where you quoted him. I had fixed both, you must have edited after my edit of his original post. PS: Jerro, was that the correction you wanted?
I see that you both are right on top of things. Yes that was the issue and the EDIT timed out. Thanks. Now if you could kindly lower gas prices.
$3.62/gallon for 87 octane at Mobil. This is the average now. The highest I have seen in my area is $3.79/gallon for 87 octane.
Has anyone ever paid more than this for regular? When I went to Shasta Lake, CA (Near Mt Shasta) back in August 2007, I had to pay $4.98 per gallon for 87 to refill the boat's tank. Breakdown is like this: $3.00 for retail gas, $1.00 to transport the gas to the lake, and about $1.00 profit to Digger Bay Marina (owned the boat). $52.00 for about 10.4 gallons. I wanted to travel 10 miles to go get gas for about $3.00, but couldn't. I could only imagine how much they'll charge now... My guess is about $6.00.
The good thing about most family boats is that you can use car gas. Why not bring a few 5 gallon gas cans?
I'm not sure if they'll let let you, even though it's possible. We didn't have any containers. They just want extra $$$ from you renting their boat.
Gas has went up $.05, down $.12 & then back up $.15 this week. In Iowa, our 87 is always ethanol and at least $.10 cheaper than non-ethanol. You can find E85 more & more, which is highly subsidized and IIRC about $.50-.80 cheaper than 87 octane. I pay no attention to flex fuel vehicles getting E85, but I thought they were specifically built to get better gas mileage when using the blend. Not so???

$4.15 for Premium at 76. Only put half a tank. I'm not giving these oil companies any more. No full tanks for me for a while.
Its not just the oil companies, terrorist nations are financed by oil money. That I resent more. But we still can't drill here, might kill some pseudo-endangered species. Premium here is $3.79
I just paid $3.26 at Murphy USA on East Main Street (US-29) in Spartanburg, SC with the 3 cent gift card discount. Down From $3.34. To this day, I've never paid more than $3.39 per gallon to fill up my car's gas tank. :cycle: I feel sorry for the rest of the country, including the coast of the state that I'm in.

A few days ago, I was just west of Greenville, SC near Easley on Hwy 123, and there was an Exxon charging $3.79. I only imagine how much it is in California.
