Fair question. So what should he do to lower prices? My Way News - McCain Proposes Break in Gas Taxes
McCain has a great idea there. I think its the best idea so far to stimulate the economy. However, with a democrat majority in congress it will never get passed. -Jay
True, but the President could sign an executive order to stop filling the reserve for a while. And I believe also, to put a hold on the collection of the tax. Venezuela and Iran subsidize gas to keep their citizens from revolting. It was less than .25 a gallon in Venezuela. They make the difference up on the rest of the world.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D062; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320) today I paid 3.20 at sams club. what a bargin. and bush stinks.
That is the McCain plan... A tax holiday over the summer, and withholding the addition of fuel to the reserves. -Jay
going to work this morning... I paid $3.25 for Unleaded. After work, I drove past the same station & the price changed up to $3.29. YAY... I saved a whole .04 Cents / Gallon cuz I'm a bargain hound!!!
$3.49 for 87 octane @ the Sunoco off exit 46 I-90 in Rochester, NY. Man it is expensive. Its $.30 higher than it is back in Boston! I've only got a 12 gallon tank and it costs me $40 to fill up from empty. Its never cost me more than $35 to do so. It's just the time we live in.
I agree. I was saying that, the President could do that without congress. I wish he would at the least.
Up Up & Away! I paid $3.19 yesterday here in Gaffney, SC (I-85 exit 90). Today that same station is $3.31

Well , $3.62 for 87 octane now in Buffalo , Tourism will be down this summer . People will not be driving near as much with these prices. Just filled up my Suburban , $145.00 . I am going to have a good cry now
How big of a tank do you have in that? My GMC Sierra pickup has a 21 gallon tank. It was really close to empty a few weeks ago, and I think it was almost $80 to fill it up. -Jay
I don't know about Maximum Signal's Suburban, but mine holds 34 gallons. My friend has a '99 Suburban, and he says his holds 40 gallons.
$80 huh? Costs us about $750-$800 to fill up. Granted, it's a semi, and Diesel's running $4.00+ Today, It was $4.03 in Tennessee ~*Ash*~
Now that is a lot of money. How many gallons does the semi hold? I wish our Diesel was that cheap in our area. Our Sprinter bus takes Diesel and the average for Diesel in my area right now is $4.19/gallon.
My dad just bought an RV, and I was trying to talk him into a diesel because they last longer and get better mileage, but dad said that since gas was $0.60/gal cheaper he was buying one with a gasoline engine. He got gas a few weeks ago, stopped at $100, and that still was only 3/4 tank. -Jay
$3.79 EXXON King of Prussia Pa. for 91. I Just paid $3.27 at HESS / Wilco on East Main Street (US-29) in Spartanburg, SC, that won't last much longer. Average here is up to $3.35
Oh I know it... I know someone in the Bay Area, CA (Palo Alto) and the lowest available gas is $3.95. Just keep in mind the old saying, what goes up, must come down. Eventually, but hopefully soon. :dunno:
Well, my gas price cap expires on June 30, (I'm capped at $3.07 until then) so hopefully the week after that! I've been looking to renew my coverage, but it just seems so expensive now. I originally paid about $40 for 6 months of coverage. Now they are asking about $130 for another 6 months, and raising my cap to about $3.50. I don't know if its going to be worth it to renew. -Jay
