I paid $3.11 couple days ago for regular unleaded gas! I wish the darn prices would stop bouncing around so much!
Gas is now $2.71 for 87 octane in my area (up from $2.65 a couple of days ago). The highest that I have seen is down by our airport (it was $2.84 for 87 octane 3 days ago).
$2.64 last thursday $2.84 by friday Forgot to look today -as the tank is full on the Durango - it only drove to Golf this weekend twice.

Shell nearest me - 2.99/9 3.12/9 3.25/9 Downtown- 3.23/9 3.35/9 3.47/9 Why is it that the closer you are to a refinery the higher the gas prices?
Just went by the cheap gas station today and regular was $3.09. Premium at the expensive station was up to $3.35
$2.97 Was $44 to fill up my car! I was looking at how gas prices have exploded since 2003. Remember anything notable about 2003?
Gas is down slightly at $2.99 for 87 octane at Shell. Most other stations are charging $3.02 for 87 octane. It was $28 to fill up my car halfway yesterday afternoon.

RANT: Jay's Quest for Gasoline... I tell you, some-thing's up here. I drove to my Mom's as a last minute thing on Sunday. Usually if I'm planning to go I won't buy gas all week so I arrive with my tank just above Empty, and fill-up with cheap gas. Anyway, when I went to leave I drove 5 miles to the 7-11 at Lake Arrowhead (The closest station to my Mom's house). They were OUT OF GAS. I figured ok, I'll just buy gas in Manassas. The next station I came to was the 7-11 at the intersection of 28 & the Prince William Parkway (about 15 miles away) was OUT OF GAS. I drove about 5 miles down the parkway to the next station, the 7-11 at the intersection of the Parkway & Balls Ford Road, right off of I-66. Surely they have gas. They wouldn't let a station right off the interstate run out, right? WRONG AGAIN. Instead of getting on the highway I decided to go down Balls Ford Road towards Sudley Road. I stopped at the next station (A 7-11 again!) and they had signs that they were out of Midgrade & premium, but they had 87 octane, and it was $0.12 cheaper than the cheapest station at home so I took it. I got 5 gallons in my tank, and then THEY RAN OUT OF GAS!!! I ended up finishing my fill-up at the RaceTrac station on Sudley Road. Anyway, what the is going on? Last year during the hurricane production facilities were leveled. Fuel was expensive, but I never encountered a station out of gas. Its a good thing I didn't drive to Mom's on Empty as I usually do or I would have run out of gas in the middle of nowhere. I know 7-11. I used to be a night manager for them in college. They're not withholding on purpose. They know if they're out of gas you're not coming inside to buy coffee & big gulps which are almost pure profit. It is unfortunate that in rural Virginia the only stations around are pretty much 7-11's. I passed no other stations along the way. :whisper: I've advised all my friends to fill-up when they get to 1/4 tank. If I was down to Empty I would have run out of gas in the middle of nowhere.
Yesterday 3.15/9 3.25/9 3.35/9 Today 3.11/9 3.21/9 3.31/9 That's at the station across from work. Near my home they all leveled off at about 2.99/9 > and stayed there.... so far.
I paid $3.67 for premium at a Chevron in Loma Linda, California. I refused to fill it up completely. My break-off point is $40. I'm glad I now live only a mile from work, otherwise I'd be hating my car. BTW, this was the first time I've bought gas in 3 weeks, and I still had about a quarter of a tank left.
I just paid $2.77 for 87 octane here in town. Mike! Good to hear from you....are you closer to LA now then you were before?
Re: RANT: Jay's Quest for Gasoline... Damn, that is strange. Maybe the local distribution company had some issues that day.
We're at 2.79 2.89 3.03 It's been there for a few days now. I know it's about 5-10 cents cheaper in Cedar rapids (20 mi north) and probably that in Des Moines, too (110 mi west) I'd like to see it down by 2.57 again. Jay - maybe they're boycotting gas! I know that there are a few stations around here that said they will not be selling gas, only groceries & such, until it costs less for them to buy it.
