Here 87 is the norm, 89 is mid and 93 is premium. Some stations around here have 94 premium. I use 87 in the 98 GMC Sierra K1500 and the 81 Buick, but the 86 Chevy C10 Silverado needs premium as I've advanced the timing to give it a little more kick so it moves when you hit the pedal, otherwise the stock 305 V-8 is barely enough to get it to move. -Jay

$2.99 for 87 octane. This is the cheapest price that I have seen in about a 30 mile radius that I drive on a daily basis. The highest I have seen is $3.21 for 87 octane and the average is $3.09 for 87 octane.
$3.13 for 87 today, with the Wal-Mart card discount. It was $3.19 yesterday, then dropped to $3.17 last night, and to $3.16 today.

Same here in Philly suburbs 3.05 low average 3.12 some stations that could care less about selling gas are much higher. In fact Lukoil can vary a lot within a 1/2 mile apart. Very odd.
3.89 that is brutal! ITs time to call, don't even bother writing your congress person and telling them that not only should more refineries be built but we need to drill for oil everywhere in the US, and stop this political stuff.
It is brutal, they raised it from 3.49 to 3.59 to 3.69 to 3.79 in a week, what a coincidence it's memorial day and the gas prices sky rocketed....
Seriously, the characters in DC. Don't get it. We need more refineries built and to drill for our own oil not depend on terror states and Chavez to drive our country broke. Who would argue if the government opened land immediatly to drill for US oil and natural gas and a instituted a crash program to finance and build refineries. Gas prices would drop. $1.60 could happen in a year. And in keeping with the topic I just filled my daughters car with 87 for 3.09. PS: this is a great historical thread, its interesting to scroll back to this week in 2006.

$3.33 for supper ($3.09 for regular) at exxon in Sterling and $3.56 supper ($3.29) at exxon in LI NY. $3.28 for Sunnoco Supper on NJ Turnpike.
The Exxon in Sterling is one of the most expensive stations in town. You should have driven to the Getty station (Its near Big Lots). Its usually $0.10 cheaper than the Exxon. -Jay
I was but since I was on my back to NY after a hecktic 4 day stay over there and needed to make it fast on the road so I get back in NY before the rush hour trafic I had no choice. But I also found out that they were also cheaper than the Exxon on Rt 7 by 193 and the one in Great Falls on 193 was also more ( aweek ago this station was 5 cents less).
If you ever head out towards Manassas go 1 exit past the PW parkway on 66 (Exit 43). On 29 in Centerville there are lots of stations that are $2.83. I've filled up both the truck and the Buick there in the last few days. -Jay
