Charlyee, what does the Mobile Data Alerter do? I have not seen that one yet. BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.405 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102
IR, Mobile data Alerter is a program that monitors data usage and the path. I find it very useful when travelling out of the country to avoid toaming data charges. It is quite accurate too in my experience, within a 2% margin of error. Here are some screenshots from it.

Good idea for a thread! I'm pretty new to the BB world and so far the only app I have installed is the one I made (Cellumap) ...oh, actually I was trying the Bolt browser because it's supposed to be able to be set as the "default browser", and since I use my BB on pre-paid I can't download anything with the Opera browser. However the I kept running in to roadblocks and still haven't managed to get it working as my default browser ...I can't really say if the browser is "faster" (as it claims) than other browsers (maybe it is) but the interface is so fugly it wouldn't be worth it anyway. I think the Bolt browser is a great idea but still isn't quite there yet. I'd like to try it again in a few months or a year, it's got alot of potential, if the developers can tweak it in the right ways...
I ended up removing the QuickPull App from my 9700 due to the freezing issues. Every time I go to use it, it brings me to the user agreement, where it promptly freezes my BB as soon as I hit the agree link........ What's the point to having this App if I have to physically remove the battery anyway........
I was using the BOLT browser on my BB 9000 on prepaid as well, until recently when I switched back to AT&T postpaid...... While I had no problems with it when I first downloaded it, it did become buggy over time, where it would freeze up, or simply wouldn't open up my favorites list. It was also very slow to start up, until it got past 20%........ I think the newer version of Opera Mini is much better, which is why I didn't bother downloading BOLT onto my new BB 9700.
I tried Quick Pull as well. I did not have any problems but my understanding is that it does not do the same job as a battery pull for 15-30 secs, which kills all power as well as resudual power. I also had Forward, Reply, and Edit. This one was temperamental and worked intermittently, also it dropped any associated attachments. So it wasn't worth it. I downloaded but deleted Quick Menu, I seem t be able to navigate around my menu faster with out it, contrary to most others experience. I do have and use Facebook, but since it came pre-installed I forgot to include it in my original list.
