Hi, Anybody know ANYTHING about ClearTalk PCS? Could you please provide me with ANY knowledge you may have. Such as: Areas serviced by ClearTalk Areas where ClearTalk has Liscenses Areas where ClearTalk holds spectrum How is ClearTalks network (anybody have experiance with them) Thanks, Cingular GSM User PS - What is Wireless Alliance. Are they still around. They are on GSM world and on the GSM world coverage map it shows Wireless Alliance has coverage in Wisconsin, Minnesotta, North Dakota and South Dakota. Anyone have experience with Wireless Alliance. BIGGEST QUESTION IS, IS WIRELESS ALLIANCE STILL AROUND? ARE THEY AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY or COPORATLY OWNED?!?!?
Known active markets: Grand Junction, CO Jackson, TN Partly/fully constructed markets and/or markets where Cleartalk has phone numbers (NPA-NXXs) where they aren't selling service: Shoals region of AL (Florence) Yuma, AZ/El Centro, CA Idaho Falls/Pocatello/Twin Falls, ID Cookeville/Crossville, TN Moab, UT Licenses/spectrum not listed above: search FCC ULS for company name "NTCH" Cleartalk seems to have some ties to Cricket/Leap but is a separate company. -SC
Could you (possibly Roamer1 - you seem to be VERY intellegent about cellular phone companies) please provide me with ANY knowledge you may have. Such as: Areas serviced by Kiwi PCS Areas where Kiwi PCS has Liscenses Areas where Kiwi PCS holds spectrum How is Kiwi PCSs network (anybody have experiance with them) Thanks, Cingular GSM User
Here is there web site link: http://www.kiwipcs.com/index.htm Seems like they cover the Carolina's. Hope this helps.
Cleartalk (at least here in ID) is an all you can eat company that uses CDMA. Their footprint is limited to say the least and they allow no roaming by users.
I read on the Zip Code Checker (for Eugene Oregon) on WirelessAdvisor.com that ClearTalk PCS has a liscense in Eugene, Oregon - 1900 CDMA, if I am not mistaken. Is this true?
Re: What about Kiwi PCS (ComScape Communications)... Bump. - Could you (possibly Roamer1 - you seem to be VERY intellegent about cellular phone companies) please provide me with ANY knowledge you may have. Re: What about Kiwi PCS (ComScape Communications)... They sure are, I see there jets leaving Newark all the time.
Re: What about Kiwi PCS (ComScape Communications)... Kiwi doesn't necessarily have the best phone selection do they? And combine that with their prices, it looks like a mini-Qwest lol.
It looks like ClearTalk is coming to the Jacksonville, FL, area. They have a bus, covered with their advertising parked in a somewhat hidden area of Jacksonville Beach. Included it that advertising is a local (904) telephone number. It also says "Unlimited Talk for $29.99 per month. " (Or something to that effect.) Does anybody know more about ClearTalk's expansion plans in Florida?
Welcome to CLEAR TALK Florida There is their website in Florida. To get to their new hompage its Welcome to CLEAR TALK But yea... they seem to be expanding into Duval, northern St. Johns, and southern Nassau counties. Very interesting... And AL, their telephone number is 904-444-4444 to their JAX store.
Thanks, GSM4ruralareas! That is an interesting set of rate plans! A check of the FCC database reveals that 904-444 is registered to PTA-FLA, Inc., a Weston, Florida, company. Do they have one of the 1900 MHZ slots?
PTA has 10 MHz of the C block (ULS License - PCS Broadband License - WQCS387 - PTA Communications, Inc.) which they've leased to NTCH/Cleartalk (ULS Lease - WQCS387 - L000001248 - NTCH INC) FWIW, this is the first time I've actually seen a spectrum lease in ULS. The NPA-NXX being assigned to PTA and not Cleartalk is a bit strange...I guess PTA is providing the switching, too. So the above list (of active and unbuilt markets) should now read: Known active markets: - Jackson, TN/Dyersburg, TN/Shoals region of AL (Florence) (same BTA) - Yuma, AZ/El Centro, CA - Idaho Falls/Pocatello/Twin Falls, ID - Jacksonville, FL (soon) Partly/fully constructed markets and/or markets where Cleartalk has phone numbers (NPA-NXXs) where they aren't selling service: - Yakima, WA (ULS License - PCS Markets where Cleartalk lost their license for whatever reason: - Cookeville/Crossville, TN (http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=9131) Where did they go? - Grand Junction, CO/Moab, UT (their original market; no longer an active market on their web site; no active NPA-NXXs; license still active - http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=210334 ) -SC

CLEARTALK - Do you know of any plans to bring service to the northeast? Any information on that would be appreciated.
I find it interesting that the Cleartalk website lists the phone number for their Jacksonville Beach store as 904-333-5555. A check of the TelcoData database lists the 904-333 exchange as assigned to T-Mobile.
Phone number can be issued in groups of one thousand, instead ten thousand. NPA-NXX-Xxxx, instead of just NPA-NXX-xxxx. I've read this detail in shown in Telcordia's LERG (forgotten what it stands for), but the subscription is very expensive. AT&T Southeast subscribes, but I haven't had the time or interest to find it internally. COtech
You're right. However, according to the TecoData table HERE, 904-333-xxxx is assigned to Powertel (T-Mobile.) And the ClearTalk advertising for the rest of the Jacksonville area uses their exchange of 904-444-xxxx as shown in the TelcoData table HERE. BTW, a few weeks ago, I saw where ClearTalk had hidden a bus that was completely painted with their advertising that included their number of 904-444-4444.
That ClearTalk website lists a Jacksonville Beach store at 325 17th Ave. North. I drove by that address this week. There is no store front at that address. The building at that location is an at&t (f/k/a Bellsouth) central office (switching center) location. That building does not allow public access. The phone number listed for that address connects to an individual's voicemail. Now, I see another location added to the ClearTalk website. The new address is 2294-6 Mayport Rd. I will check out that address next week.
The August 20, edition of the (Florida) Times Union has an article about ClearTalk service in Jacksonville. You can read that news item HERE.
