I finally decided I needed a new phone. Yes, I know there will probably be a new Android out at the end of the month, but I'm looking at a new job prospect, and I feel I need a 100% reliable phone, not one that dies quickly, and sometimes drops calls. The Vivid is about 3 years old now, and has held up quite well. I just ordered an upgrade through Amazon for the HTC ONE M8. It was $199.99 on AT&T's website, but only $49.99 on Amazon, plus I was able to use an Amazon giftcard leftover from Christmas. Should be here on Friday, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

That is awesome that your Vivid lasted 3 years! Congrats on the M8, it's a very nice device.

I have an acquaintance that has the M8 and thoroughly enjoys it. You made a good choice. The only downside is that it is very slippery in the hand. A protective case will alleviate that issue.

I agree, it's a slippery sucker. Just about any case should take care of the issue.

Another bonus... I paid $49.99 on Amazon for the M8. I checked on Amazon's phone trade in value, and apparently a white Vivid in good condition is fetching about $63. If I had known that I would have upgraded a while ago.

So you made money going from a three year old phone to a year old phone? Wow you sure lucked out.

I never used the M8, but have heard good things about it, good luck with it.

Yeah, I was shocked. Gazelle.com is only offering me $5 for it. AT&T only offered me $10 for it. I looked on various other trade in sites and got prices from $5 to $40, most in the $20 range. I'm kind of shocked that Amazon is offering so much more than anyone else.

The M8 is a nice phone. One of my coworkers has one and likes it a lot over it older HTC phone. Good luck with your new phone and job.

I was out doing some Mall shopping today and stopped into the Verizon store, Best Buy, and Apple (of course).

Took a long look at the HTC ONE M8, and it is a really a nice looking and feeling-in-the-hand phone. So is the Droid Turbo too. There really is a great selections of smartphones out there today.

    Congrats and enjoy!

The phone arrived via UPS today, and I headed straight to the AT&T store to activate it. Seems really nice so far, but I still have to put all my apps on it and set it up the way I like it.

Today I installed the HTC Transfer tool to my Vivid. Took a while, but it moved my call history, texts, settings, contacts, and other stuff to the new phone. After the transfer tool ran, it was setup exactly like the Vivid was. I couldn't be happier.

Also today, I streamed music all day on the I Heart Radio app, and the sound is incredible, and it can get pretty loud too. Did not need external amplified speakers.
