Well, I am supposed to be. However, it wasn't noted in the account (typical Sprint thing to do) and so now, Executive Services is getting in contact with the Account Services rep who agreed to it, her supervisor and the supervisor of the Executive Services rep to try and get this resolved. I also told them to suspend my account completely as to not incur anymore charges because I have a credit of almost $90 on their and if Sprint screws me over again by going against what they agreed to I would only have to pay about $110 which isn't too bad. So I am giving them until after Christmas (Thursday) to hear from them and if I don't, I will be calling back.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.0.9800/209; U; en)) welcome back to the dark side.
What do you guys mean when you say "Welcome Back to the Dark Side" ? Are you saying AT & T isn't good? Presently I'm with Verizon and my contract is up so I am looking at the different services being offered in the Westchester, New York area. I want to have full internet service.
Just the at&t (Not to be mistaken as AT&T, god forbid) logo reminds many of us of the death star from a popular sci fi movie/series. at&t, all your lines are belonging to us.Now.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.2) 16;320x320) Hey! Welcome back.....I just got my sister to get her and her husband at&t phones for christmas...and to finally ditch those horrible Sprint lines. The last straw was 2 weeks ago when my sister..again...could not hear me on her Sprint line....and then the call dropped like clockwork.
Shizam nice work on your family we are all on verizon here and it is good to hear when someone goes to a carrier you know you can trust. My brother in law who is getting married soon is switching his woman over to verizon from tmobile it is just nice to have unlimited calling between everyone makes life much easier.. Although I think tmobile is great.
Nice to know that there are people who dont like to stew in their mess (self made or otherwise) Welcone back!
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.6) UP.Link/6.3.1.17.0) His woman Ryan? That's quite derogatory IMHO. Welcome back Steve.
OH I am sorry you feel that way. That was not meant to be derogatory in anyway oh well cant please em all.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.6) UP.Link/6.3.1.17.0) True, you cannot please everybody. I do very much doubt you pleased anybody by your choice of words. In in case, thank you for saying you didn't mean it to be derogatory.
If you feel the need to discuss this further you may private message me as I am done discussing this with you in this thread. And that is the course of action that should have been taken in the first place.
This is what is happening with Verizon. Also, when I was out with my dad running errands today, he lost a client for about 10 seconds until he popped his antenna up and she was able to hear him. This happened about 2 miles from my house. So just like what happened with Sprint 2.5 years ago (btw, their network is now very good in my area), Verizon is starting to go down the toilet. The weird thing is that it is only within a 3 mile radius of my house. On the other side of the tower that serves the radius, the coverage is fine. So I am thinking that the panels were switched and aimed towards a higher priority area.
I was having the same problem with Verizon around my area. Verizon was never very good indoors in WI (PCS only), but it seemed liked it deteriorated quite fast in the last 6-8 months. So I finally ported my Verizon line in early December and now have a family share plan on at&t.
Verizon is also all PCS in my area. We are thinking of doing the same thing, but we will wait until our contract is up on 8/1/08. We will either be porting to Sprint or Alltel since both of them have very good networks here and both get better signals in our house than Verizon.
Wow... I guess that each Verizon PCS network has its quirks. I am in Florida as well but the network is solid and well built out in Tallahassee, Imho. They get extra points with me since they have a site about a 1/3 mile from my place and another site one mile away from me. I havent had any major issues with the indoor signal... at work, the signal gets as low as -105 db and I have held clear conversations. I dont blame you Gamer annd Charlyee for going to companies that work better for you.
Well, Verizon also has a well built-out network where I am too. The closest two towers, however, are 2.5 miles to the south of my house [the next closest towers are a good 5 miles away (north, west, and east)]. The two closest towers to me are the only towers that serve my neighborhood, several big strip malls south of my neighborhood, several heavy traffic areas, and several home developements. In my neighborhood (and a 3 mile radius around it), Verizon gets a bad signal. We have 4 lines with Verizon and my dad uses his line strictly for our family ecotour business so getting a good signal inside our house is a must for my dad.
Why do you use Verizon if it does not work well at home? Is there any other choice that would work at your house?
We are still under contract on all four lines like Ryan mentioned. We will definitely be switching next August unless Verizon gets better. Yes, the other two providers that work well are Sprint and Alltel like I mentioned in other threads.
You are correct, Ryan. There is no way that we are paying Verizon $700 to cancel 4 lines unless things get absolutely horrible.
It is my understanding that Verizon pro-rates their cancellation charges (if so - good on them & shame on those who don't) - so unless you just signed up it should be much less . . . . tb
Well when we signed up, Verizon did not have this policy in effect. From what I have read on other forums, the prorated ETF is only if you signed up at a certain date (one source said November 16, 2006). Since we signed up on August 1, 2008, I believe that we do not qualify for the prorated ETF. Thanks for the information, though.
