Don't be fooled by a nice website and what appeared to be a reasonable and professional mobile phone supplier. I purchased several high-end Motorola phones last year for my family - each supposedly with a $150 rebate. We submitted the rebates on time with all the appropriate documents and have kept our account with the wireless provider in superb status. The supposed "rebates" were to be rebated within 6 -8 weeks from Lets Talk, and IT HAS NOW BEEN 12 WEEKS WITH NO END IN SIGHT! Their response by e-mail keep telling me that the processing time is 6-8 weeks - Dhaa! The e-mails and rebate documents all say that! And phone response is only that they are "still processing". Everyone acknowleges that all documentation is in line, and that my account with the wireless provider is current, but no-one is willing to solve the problem, address the issue or forward my call onto someone who can! Just wanted to let people know that this firm does NOT seem to be an honorable vendor, does NOT seem interested in keeping their commitments to customers, and is clearly NOT interested in trying to resolve their lack of fulfilling and meeting written commitments to customers! In a couple more weeks, I will likely cancel all of my wireless service agreements with AT&T and allow Lets Talk deal with the wireless provider since the 24 month agreements all go through them.
I bought my Audi 9500 from them a few years back when i had Verizon service and yes the rebate took a bit longer to get but i eventually got it in the mail...
usually rebates are 10-12 week return no matter if it says 6-8. they make sure you have the service for 30 days 1st and then process the rebates
I hope that doesn't happen to me. The phone that I got from them was already free so I didn't lose any money on it but I would love to get that $30 dollar rebate.
about 12 weeks is the norm, since the 6-8 weeks does not start until you have service for 30 days normally.
I had a good experience with them. Got a nokia 3589i no contract for like 130$ back in November 2003. My stepdad sent them an old phone (for nokia rebate) instead of to Nokia. They found it, and shipped it back to me so I could send it to Nokia. My stepdad handled calling their CS (since it was his fault), and he said they were competant and nice. Every company screws up as in the original post, but I'd deal with them again.
Even the FTC proclaims that rebates are complete scams. Even big carriers like SprintPCS have issues with their rebate houses. Their rebate house tried to pull a fast one on me, saying i did not qualify for a rebate due to some BS reason. Interesting enough, I convinced a SprintPCS CSR to conference in the rebate house, and they did a complete 180 turn on their stance. "Oh sorry sir, didn't you get the check we sent in the mail?! OH! It must have got lost...let me send another one right away". Yea..RIGHT...lost in the mail. The previous Sprint Rebates rep said flatly I did not qualify and there was no way to continue further.
Not as bad as Best Buy saying I didnt qualify for my Cingular rebates because we didn't activate service on the v400 and p107, we activated it on two t616's. What a crock of crap, it's called an EXCHANGE! Finally, getting through to BB corporate, I got two rebates for the v400 (200$) instead of one for a p107 and v400 (170). BB screwed themselves out of 30 haha. I think Let's Talk will get it right.
