    Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.14912/2502; U; en) Presto/2.2.0)

Is there an option while viewing the forums from the WAP site to switch to the full HTML version of the forums, without having to exit the browser? This is something that I have seen on the Crackberry WAP site, but don't know if it's available on this one or not.....

Irene, the WAP site for Wireless Advisor is a different site entirely which is not the case with Crackberry Forums, CB has the Mobile Friendly version of the same site..

We have the same option here as well, if you go to the WA Mobile Device Skin from the pull down menu at the bottom of the main site. This will give you the main site in a mobile friendly version, and also allow you to switch to the regular site when you want to.

That is what I generally do, I think you will like it. Let me know if it works for you.

Charlyee, this was an excellent suggestion, and one that I like very much. Thank you! :)

The "WA mobile device skin has a much more appealing and cleaner look to it, so it is one that I will be using from now on. I took a picture of the mobile skin, and the WAP version so others could see the difference:

I've tried the mobile skin on my 8350i but it doesn't change to the mobile skin.

I don't know if this will work for you or not, go into the "Browser Configuration", and make sure that you have a check next to "Support JavaScript". If not, put a check mark next to it, hit save changes, and close the browser. Once you restart the browser, you should be able to switch to the mobile device skin.

I needed to update my OS to version 4.6, i guess it wasn't updated on the replacement 8350i, good call though, that was the first thing i had checked.

Thanks, I am glad you like it. :)

A question for you, what is the symbol to the left of the lock sign, I am being told it is possibly the GPRS symbol, however I do not have it on mine with 3G or EDGE. I am just curious, thanks :)

I am honestly not sure what it is. It has always been there when the web browser is in use, even when I'm on EDGE or 3G, or WiFi (as seen in my picture above). Here is a picture of a speed test that I did on AT&T's 3G network when I first got my BB Bold. The green symbol was there then too.

I have never seen GPRS on any of my Blackberry phones, but if I did, I think it would look like this picture that I found on the net.

EDIT: I just read on CB that, that is just a symbol that shows you are connected to the internet. Your BB 9700 used a different OS version, which might be why I see it, and you don't. Not sure though......

Charlyee I found out that the status bar can be removed by pressing the U key while the browser is open, which removes all the distracting symbols that appear at the top, and it takes advantage of the screens large size.

Thanks Irene, isn't it neat how many shortcuts and tricks there are on a BB.

I think we should compile a list, make a sticky and ask others to add to it.

    Are you game? :)

Sounds like it will make a very nice addition to the Blackberry forum. I will send you a link that I found with a lot of shortcuts in it............ While playing around with the different keys on the top row, I found out that if you hit the P key, it will give you a link to the site that you are on, so you can copy and paste it if you need to. So this is one that can be added as well. :)
