a few days back i saved a text message. immediately thereafter my phone shut off. I turned it back on and went to the message menu. every option within the message menu (ie received, sent, drafts, saved...etc,) has been replaced by the word "thanks". i'm still able to receive txt's, but once i exit the screen I can no longer go back and view the txt again. everytime i try and send a txt it won't send it. And when i go to write a message, the message box (which would normally be blank) was about halfway full with "y"s with two dots above each one. I've tried taking out the battery for long periods of time, I've tried the 5 foot drop method, I've gone to options and deleted all txts, i've done about everything i can think of and yet its still not helping. any help of guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'd try doing a factory reset.

I agree with this. Do a master clear (write down all your contacts or back them up with Motorola Phone Tools first) and a master reset and if that doesn't work, take it to your local sales office and have them reflash the phone. This may fix the issue, if not, and the phone is still under warranty, have it sent in to be repaired.
