    Folks.
I have a v60s that has some techincal troubles - most importantly it stops ringing at random, regardless of the ringer setting, and you have to remove the battery to reset it.

However, they are no longer stocking the v60s.

So, what do they do? Give you monetary credit toward another phone? Something else?
    Thanks.

My friend has verizon, he had the insurance thing and they gave him whatever was in stock. What he got was a pretty nice phone. Maybe you still have it on warranty.

What do you suggest would be "equivalent" to the v60s? the LG 4500?

The phone is still available in some channels...Motorola has a ton of them, but Verizon is not too fond of them because of their lack of a color screen and some additional capabilities...

I think they keep getting a lower and lower price from MOTO to stock that phone, that's why it goes in and out of inventory.

regarless, some are kept in stock just for replacements, so you can have them check another store if that one doesn't have it, that is of course if you want another v60s...

You don't get to choose the phone. The insurance company just sends you one. It can even be a refurb.

It is definitely a warranty claim. I was in a VZW store yesterday and was told that there were no more v60s. Since this is the second v60s with the same problem and since I was using a v60 about three years ago with Cingular, I wouldnt mind moving forward with technology.

As such, what do you folks consider to be an equivalent to the v60s?
    Thanks.

When I broke my V120c early 2002 they I got to choose between 3 modles one was V120c one was Audiovox and the other one was Nokia. V120c was much better than the other 2 and they told me that if I got the V120c it would take 7 days to get to me becuase they were out of stock and the other phones could be at my house in 2 days. The next day I had a new V120c in my hand from airbone express. I don't know if Verizon changed insurance companies for wireless, if they did that might be why the no selection has changed.

I know you probably checked this, but this is a known issue with a simple fix. Have you checked every ringer profile (loud, soft, vibrate, vibrate/ring) and made sure the keybeep volume is set to a least level 1

I'll give it a shot. I was only able to "fix" it by removing the battery.
It repeats itself sooner or later, but I'll check as per your advice.

Nonetheless, do you think that the LG 4500 would be "comparable" - speaker phone and all that?

    Thanks

    jfxf,

Don't return that phone! There's nothing wrong with it. Well, obviously there's a software glitch, they all have them, but there's nothing seriously wrong with it. Make sure ALL the profiles (even silent, I left that one out of my previous post) have the keybeep set to at least 1 and you won't have that no-ringer problem anymore.

And, in my opinion, the speaker on the LG 4500 is not useable. So far, only the V60s has impressed me.

    Good luck

I did see your post, I was hoping others might have an opinion.
The 3100/3200 does not have an external display like the v60s.

This is a known issue with the phone... there is a software update available to correct this. Also, VZW has kept FRU inventory for warranty replacements available at our store consistently.
