    Verizon Wireless Completes $104.5 Million Enhancement To Great Plains Network In 2004

    This stuff makes me laugh. If this is their view of a mission to deliver the best wireless experience, we should all leave now!

    The region includes 5 states. That's only $20 million per state, and seeing as both SD and ND spent that much just on switch offices, there wasn't much left for anything else. They are bragging about adding 56 new sites to the region? Again, that's only about 10 per market. The Minneapolis market needs at least 30 more to be competitive, and engineers have confirmed that fact!

    Populations:

    IA: 2,926,324
    MN: 4,919,479
    ND: 642,200
    NE: 1,711,263
    SD: 754,844

    Yet, they spent just as much money in Colorado alone, and the population of Colorado is 4,301,261! That's less than MN by itself. Colorado is part of the Mountain region that includes ID, MT, UT, and WY. According to the press releases, they spent:

    ID = $20 million, population = 1,293,953
    MT = 15 million, population = 902,195
    UT = $32 million, population = 2,233,169
    WY = $14 million, population = 493,782
    CO = $107 million, population = 4,301,261

    The population of the Great Plains region is almost 2 million more, yet the amount invested in the market was 50% less than the amount invested in the Mountain region!

    Yeah, sure, VZW is serious about the Great Plains market, whatever!

    You don't get to roam on anyone regionally in The Great Plains region, like in the West with Local Digital Choice. And to top this off Verizon has lost more Cellular territory in Iowa than all the Commnet Wireless areas out here in the West! :nono: :loony: :devil: :banghead:
