You seemed to miss the fact that FS will only be available on AC. Then all extra lines would be $10 a month.

:headscrat What am I missing? You just confirmed what I said. Read carefully:

VZW = $60 for 500m btwn 2 lines w/ $10 for extra lines (AC only)
    SPCS = $70 for 800m btwn 2 lines w/ $10 for extra lines (F&F only)

To answer your original post, they do provide $10 for additional lines. As with VZW, it's only on a certain plan category. As I said before, you do sacrifice coverage and network quality but gain 300 addt'l minutes and $0.05 overage for $10 more than VZW's plan.

Next week, all of VZW FS plans will offer $10 extra lines. That's what I'm saying.

Ah ha! I did not get that out of your post....especially since I kept quoting the original post as below:

This post specifically says ACS plans only. Can you post a link to your source? I would be surprised if all FS plans included $10 AAP, especially National Single Rate.

Exactly. MeatChicken's original posts says that FS will go away for other plans and be available only on AC. Of course, this whole thread is assuming MeatChicken's original post is correct.

    Thanks Meat Chicken.
Just for that I will have Chicken Meat Tomorrow. What is interesting is that there is no in between minutes. You go from 500 to 1000. No 750 or 800. Cute!!

I have been hearing more & more about some new plans due out sometime in mid-February, but nothing from any official source's yet. I think if Verizon does do this tomorrow & with T-Mobiles new plans that Cingular may need to bump up any new plans to at least the 1st of Feb.
This will be good to see some pricing competition, I don't think the phone discount's alone are working enough for the carriers.

    USCC IS GONNA DIE!
I thought it was ridiculous when they raised their regional sharetalk to $20/month. And that's a 5 state area, no nights and weekends off network, etc.
Still $15 with USCC for LOCAL SHARETALK. RIDICULOUS!
Parents and sister are switching from USCC in Mar.
Anyone know if this promo will still be around then?

I saw today's ad for Verizon's new $9.99 share lines, but don't see the bargin in it.
The main plan is now 59.99 with 500 Anytime mins and $9.99 for the 2nd line.
Wasn't it previously 39.99 for 400 anytime mins & 19.99 for each addl. line?
It seems closer to what Cingular is offering, which is hopefully going to start something with a price war, but it's not what i thought it would be.

The $59.99 is for 500 min and 2 lines. Think of it as $49.99 for 500 min and each additional line is $9.99.

I am sure that this promo will still be around then.

If it isn't, then Verizon will lose some potential customers, since $79.99/month plus $9.99/month for 1000 minutes to share over three lines is a pretty good deal imo.

You are correct & I stand corrected, I didn't notice the top where it said 2 lines.
With that being the case you get 50 more mins for almost the same price for 2 lines with Cingular, since they charge 39.99 for the 1st & 19.99 each addl line with 450 Anytime mins. And is a bigger savings for Verizon Customers.
It will be interesting to see what Cingular does come out with then.

Verizon might be worth it, if we can get out of our contracts. The $79.99 + $9.99/month plan looks tempting....$89.98/month for 1000 minutes to share over 3 lines with unlimited IN calling on all 3 lines. ;)

Both of our phones passed the tests that they run on them. Now I have to issue a trouble ticket for our tower.

I have a friend who was always happy with Verizon, and 3 weeks ago made the switch to Cingular mainly b/c of Cingular's lower priced family plans.... and now that he heard that Verizon has more or less the same prices, (plus he could have a 5th line) he is thinking of going back to Verizon....
now if he knew for sure that Cingular would be coming out with something new, he would stay with Cingular..... so I really need help in keeping him as a customer....

[also my brother who has a family plan now with Verizon, with a plan expiring in 4 months, and was thinking at that point of switching to Cingular, is now thinking of renewing his Verizon contract, (to get the newer pricing) unless again he knew that Cingular had something even better up its sleeve...]

So the phones are good huh! Hopefully your trouble ticket will get you somewhere. I had one for a tower near my old work that was getting interference from an AT&T tower, and they did nothing with it. That was one of the reasons I left Sprint. Although, I think that they were a great company and I had good service most of the places I went...

The last i heard is Febuary for the new plans from Cingular, again this plan by Verizon may cause them to decide to do something sooner, maybe bring back the 39.99 with 9.99 addl lines with 600 anytime mins, like AWE use to have. That would be sweet & throw in 7PM nights and forget about it. (OK I will stop dreaming now)

    Has anyone changed plans online?

Quick check of the math shows we'd do better with the new pricing. Our current 800 minute plan with 3 total lines is ~$100 and the new 1000 minute plan with 3 total lines is ~$90.

Has anyone used the web site to change their plan or is it better to call customer service?

Both my friend and I upgraded to get the extra 50 min with the AC 400 yesterday. He's also going to get his parents family share plan upgraded.

It looks like a lot of customers will take advantage of the new plans.

I always call Customer Service, but mostly because I'm a little leery of the website not preserving features I have on my account, like International Roaming and my corporate discount.

Re: Has anyone changed plans online?

I've currently got 400min AC FS for 2 lines at $59.99/month. Anyone think I should push my contract up a couple months from 1 Dec 2005 to ~18 Jan 2006 for the 500min at $59.99/month? Currently, my wife and I use a lot of IN minutes with the rest of the family, but my parents and her parents have threatened to switch to TMO and/or Cingular when their contracts end this year. Maybe I should just wait and see how many minutes I'll need if they switch.

Re: Has anyone changed plans online?

I might call 1800JOININ tonight and switch. Maybe I'll use my phone more knowing that I've got more minutes. A 25% increase for free isn't bad at all. And it's not like the contract date is a big deal because my wife will be eligible for a phone upgrade in April, so I might even renew around then if she feels like she needs a new phone. (She's fairly frugal, so I'm not counting on this.)

There you go! Sounds like a plan to me.

Does the NE2 change when you upgrade your plan? If so, then you may want to check on that before making the change now...

My wife's phone is the primary because I was on a FS with my parents before we got married and I figured she would need the IN minutes (back when it was $10 for IN on secondary lines).

Does anyone have a New Every Two brochure available. I tried searching the site, but that's what it referred me to.

Re: Has anyone changed plans online?

I always prefer calling CS for plan changes as well. And anything with new phones & plans I prefer to deal with a Corp. store, so i know the phone is working properly when I walk out & I get to try the different phones.
I know the technoligy is better with the web sites, but I also don't trust them 100%.

Well...I called and found out since I'm in the great state of NY, there has to be something signed to change plans. I was able to update my AC400 to AC450 on the web page but it appears all Family Share plans have to be handled by Customer Service. So I guess I've got to have my wife go into the store and do the paperwork.

Re: Has anyone changed plans online?

New Every Two is based on length of time since last equipment upgrade, not contract term. If you extend your contract, you still get your NE2 when you normally would. Also, you shouldn't have to extend your contract at all (and if you did, it would be a 2-year commitment, I would think, so you'd be under contract until 1/18/2007 -- it's 2005 now).
