As you know the VX4400 notifies you once for an appointment or text message.
If you miss it or are doing something on the phone you may not get that notification.
The Motorola will nag you every x minutes until you push a button.

I asked LG support about this.

They told me that under notify I can select VIB+REMIND and it will keep vibrating
    just like the T720.

    I asked them about RING+Remind.

    They answered:

There is no plan for a ring and remind this change would have to be requested by Verizon.

    What's up with that?

The manufacturer will listen to the requests of the service provider as opposed to the end user. Both are tight-lipped about ver.07. I still think this fix will be part of the next update which will hopefully be released in June.

I'm still hopeful. However, if that's not part of the next s/w upgrade we only have Verizon to blame.

I wouldn't take what LG customer support says too seriously. I'm not sure how knowledgable they are. I recently asked them about this, the analog problem, and asked them to confirm that a new software version is coming soon. Here's what I got:

    "Dear Customer,
You can set the Voicemail alert so that it will vibrate and remind you with a vibrate alert, but there is not audible reminder as there was on the vx 10. If you service area is changing then have the Verizon store check and see if that is a network error or a phone error. Verizon Releases all software updates and may be able to advise what is addressed with which update."

They didn't really answer two of my three questions and sound rather vague.
