Just got the 4400 based on reviews and recomendations from all of you. Love the phone, although I'm not too sure about the VZ service. I came from T-mobile, phone worked great at work, now I get the "no signal banner" at work and within a block of my office. I've also noticed that I don't seem to get as many "bars" around my home area (southeastern PA, Bucks County) as I did with my Samsung Q105. Anyone else in my area with verizon? Could it be the phone? I really would like to keep this phone...just seems to be too many gaps in coverage. Any suggestions on other providers? I want the same type of flip phone with the same features. Don't know what else is out there?!?! Any help would be appreciated.

LG signal meeters can be a litle conservative. Are you able to make calls everywere you need to?

If so keep the service, if not drop the service. By the way, if your Tmobile phone had such good reception at work, why did you switch?

Where exactly in Bucks County? I know the whole drive down rte 611 and 32 to New Hope from Easton Pa is not the greatest. That part of Bucks and Northampton Counties are being worked on by Verizon. That Valley along the canals and the river between Pa and NJ is a tough area. Lots of dips and hills. I can always make calls along there, but my signal is not perfect. I have the VX4400 and it usually never shows full bars on it. But, I always have clear calls that don't get dropped no matter where I'm at. The signal meters on phones arent exactly the most accurate things either.

I am in Buckingham. Pretty good signal there. Only problem is that I get alot of echoes. As I go towards Newtown (where I work) the signal drops off to bascially nothing and I get the "no signal banner". I also have a Samsung s105 that works great in Newtown. Like the features of the VX400 though. I guess I'll keep both.

the best phone for signal is the v60... PA is one of the hardest states to cover because of the mountains and hills....i think verizon does a better job than anoyne in PA..all my friends who switched from cingular or ATT to verizon have been really happy with the service..all thought att does have a good tdma network in pa also..

Try turning the volume on your phone down when you get alot of echos and see what happens. Works for me most of the time.

I also purchased VX4400 over the wkend... Same problem, the signal is too low. I keep getting disconnected.
I also don't see 'D' on my phone (no 'A' either).. Does that mean its running in analog mode
I switched from sprint.. At present I feel my sprint phone is performing better than Verizon [IMG]
I'm already thinking about returning the phone before the 15 day trial expires...

you probably see a 1x on the phone....that means you're in a digital area with acccess to high speed data...i don't know about the disconnecting problem...i rarely hae any dropped calls in nj...and again the signal meter is not always the best indicator...i can make perfect calls with one bar...the signal meter isn't a standar they vary by the manufacturer and the lg is conservative when displaying signal strength... but if the service is not working for you you should return it...and get what works..

from a previous post with echo problems, i believe everyone stated this is almost surely an issue with the network (tower) your phone is on. I would call Verizon about this , especially if it only happens at one or two particular locations and not at others. My phone will do the same thing once or twice, but usually its the other party causing it because i was on a landline phone once and got echos while talking to a friend with Sprint PCS. So, end note, don't ditch the phone quite yet, sounds more like a network issue.
