    Hey,

I had this thing working a few days ago... came back
from a long weekend and now it's no longer working.
    Here's the situation:

    - got the radio shack cable
    - installed correct future dial driver
    - on com4 w/ LG vx4400
    - put phone on data in always and set it to that RS port
    thing
    - i hit "get phone data" in Bitpim and BOOM: (in popup
    error window)

**as of now I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and bitpim.

I'm having this same problem. I'm running version 4 software, would that be the problem?

    I kinda figured it out...

When you click "Get Phone Data" all the checkboxes are checked. Uncheck them all. Check them one by one and get the data one by one. It works.

I had the same problem. Goto your windows device manager (right clk my computer), Then goto Hardware -> Device Manager. Next open up the usb serial adapter. (listed under com ports, Mine was com4) Open up the properties for that com port, and change your stop bits from 1 to 2. You can only select 1, 1.5, or 2. By chance I ran into a problem with my smart card reader some time back. Same problem, same solution. Good Luck!

I know a prob I had was when I tried to transfer a ringer... the file itself wouldn't go... so it may not be the solution your looking for but avoid that wallpaper another prob I had was I didn't understand how the files were stored and transfered so while bitpim made it's own ringer folder your not supposed to put the files in there instead make a seperate folder put them in there and just drag.... it may work but once again may not be the solution your looking for.
