Do you have VOIP if so how many lines? Has it been reliable for you? What company? Cable or DSL? Thanks
Used to have VOIP for the past 2.5 years or so. First Sunrocket, now JoiPhone and VOIP.com. All 3 have been very reliable for me (lol at least Sunrocket was reliable until they shut their doors ). The only "issue" I have with JoiPhone is that they do not have Caller ID Name, just show you the number of the person calling you. Other than that, I sometimes have issues calling internationally with JoiPhone, hence I am looking at other alternatives and got a VOIP.com line. We have Cable Internet at my home with multiple computers connected downloading/uploading constantly and VOIP works perfectly.
Thanks, I was looking at Cavalier ( Cavtel), Phonom, Call Vantage and Voice Wing. Vonage seems to have less fratures, like no call block. I want to hard wire throught the jacks.
Seems like you are more looking at larger corporation's VOIP service. You will definitely pay more for their VOIP than getting VOIP from a different company. I have friends and family that used to use larger corporation VOIP service, like Vonage, Qwest,Call Vantage and they switched to various (cheaper) providers and are just as happy. VOIP.com offers 12 months of service for $199. Viatalk.com offers two lines of service for two years for $199. In my honest opinion, the larger companies are charging more for VOIP than is needed, and the service you get is not much better, if at all.
Cavtel.com is wire line company on the East Coast they also offer VOIP. It looked good until I checked satisfaction forums. It is cheaper than the big ones.
I had Packet8 for about 4 years - two lines with no problems at all. I just decided to drop both the lines in an economy move - ported to cell only with Skype as a backup for long 800 calls. - sheureka
