That's very interesting how they were able to recover that message... It makes me wonder how many of my voicemails (that have long since been deleted) are still floating around in some archived system somewhere...
How'd they randomly find it? I really doubt that someone went "Hey Joe! Go dig out the 2005 VMS preretrofit upgrade archives and find this voicemail greeting!"
It sounds like they just (recently) upgraded him and that given the recent nature of the change were able to somehow locate where the old data resided.
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D062; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320) wow that's wierd.
From the way this thread was titled, I though somebody received a voicemail from a dead loved one! I'm relieved it was just a recovered voicemail...
I think the article was mis titled anyway. It sounds like what they restored was his wife's voicemail greeting, and he never deleted it, Verizon had initially lost it in a system upgrade. -Jay
